My county is the 3rd largest county in Mississippi with 162,000 residents. The 7 day average of COVID deaths: 1 That's not 1 per day. That's 1 death per 7 days.

If this is a "hotspot" then what do the coldspots look like?

This is all 100% B.S.

Desoto or Rankin? However, that 1 had a family. A friend of mine passed away during the night from Covid.

A doctor we know just posted statistics on Facebook for Covid hospitalizations at the General on Bluebonnet in BR.

The number of unvaccinated people was higher than vaccinated people but not dramatically higher and the number of overall hospitalizations looked pretty damn low for what was being called a pandemic.

What? From today, 85% are unnvaxxed in hospitals

And that number is even more drastic when you consider the fact the most heavily vaccinated group is the elderly

Sorry about your friend but we should not make public policy based on his/her death bc statistically it would make any sense.

Have you seen the CDC map? The entire country is a "hot spot". This latest ruling was a nationwide stealth mask mandate.

The country of New Zealand has a population of 4.9m, just reported 3 new cases. Run for the hills.

Their vaccination rate for full is around 14%.

Two things: 1) curious as to his location and 2)just 1 death might seem meaningless, except that one person's family. Had nothing to do with public policy.

All these "delta variant" hotspots...

Yet no test exists for the "delta variant"...

Are we awake yet?

"And that number is even more drastic when you consider the fact the most heavily vaccinated group is the elderly."

This is the underreported component. The shots are likely more effective than the 265-41 figure suggests because those who are more likely to have severe symptoms, the old, are more likely to have received the vaccines. It would be interesting to see the average of the unvaxed and vaxed who are hospitalized.
