Two New York lawmakers are drafting a bill that would allow authorities to review 3 years of social media history and 1 year of internet search history for anyone who wants to buy a gun. LINK

What would qualify in someone's search history to earn a "ban" from purchasing firearms?

"Hate speech"?

What's that?

If someone Googled: "The next man that makes a move, the n***** gets it." might just be looking up a scene from Blazing Saddles.

ALLOW, but not require. There would have to be multiple indicators hit before authorizing something like this.

I get the idea behind it and it loosely makes sense to make sure a crazy person isn’t talking about killing people before buying a gun.,.. but like so many things, it would likely not prevent that and would just be targeting anyone who says anything the left doesn’t like from getting a gun

How in the world are 'concealed carry licenses' not infringing? Also (rather large picture, but worth.)

Asking for a friend.

If your porn search doesn't contain gay and tranny porn you are a bigot and shouldn't own a gun...or so I've been told.

This is so retarded that only libtards could conceive this.

Besides it being entirely unconstitutional, what the frick do you do about the many people who don't use social media, or don't have a computer?

And what criteria would they use to determine what would make someone ineligible to purchase a firearm?

These people should be tarred and feathered for this stupidity.

Guess you would have to do firearms research a year in advance because I can guarantee you if your search history is full of gun and bullet ballistic searches you will not be able to buy one.

Oh I don't believe that for one second. Those are the conditions in which I would even CONSIDER such a piece of stupid legislation.
