From a pure political perspective, this debacle wont matter much as the majority of the city votes Democrat. .
Yes your right, the profits of those businesses will drop because of this. This is why taking a political stance is bad for any business.
But this thread does highlight what people of all political perspectives have noticed. We are passionate and take action on every pet issue, but not do ANYTHING when it comes to other quality of life matters.

Had reservations for Peche tonight, but decided I will spend my money elsewhere. I must say that I am very disappointed that Link Restaurant Group would associate with such a morbid cause.
They will receive a phone call and follow up email, just incase the hostess forgets, to explain my reason for cancellation.

I doubt most of the Democrats in New Orleans can afford to eat at most of these places. So of it became something bigger than here, yeah it would hurt them. But it only being on TD they may just lose 100 of so people.

Probably won’t. But I’ll still laugh at every dollar they lose.
Also it’s hilarious they’re having an abortion bake sale in a city that desperately needs help controlling the crime problem. But the optics on that wouldn’t look as “virtuous”.

Peche is listed under the Link Restaurant Group, so I imagine that he is down with this political statement.
It actually would be easier to partner with like minded people, finding them, would be the difficult part.

While Democratic and largely progressive, New Orleans is not monolithic in those regards. Plenty of Catholics still here and a place like Willa Jean's is in the CBD where plenty of Uptown, Metry, and generally speaking more conservative types are known to congregate either during the workday or thereafter. I could see a place like WJ's taking a hit.
