We have thread after thread on this board about China and their threats to our way of life. Yankees have done more damage to our way of life than any other foreign entity. They're moving down here in droves and destroying the only culture that is distinct from the soulless and materialistic black hole that is American pop culture.

I'll be the first to say I admire the unique culture of Cajuns/Louisianans, even if they get on my nerves. But it isn't Yankees destroying your culture. It's the entertainment industry and media and universities. That's on you.

I agree with you, but neither of these industries are stocked with Southerners. In fact, the most accurate portrayal of Southerners in movies and film is mostly done by British actors.

Every individual chooses their own exposure and that of their children to all of those things. Southerners import their media and entertainment and are surprised when their kids are influenced by it.

If I'm being honest, the New Yorkers who move here fit in better than the New Englanders, especially if the NY folks are Italian. The New Yorkers are louder and more blunt about things, but they have a sense of humor, familial bonds and an obsession with food that makes them a lot like Southerners. I've found that folks from New England just revel in being assholes.

I’m an adopted northern conservative. Ironically some of the nastiest democrats/liberals I’ve argued with are native born southerners.

Anybody who lives north of the borderline of North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas and Oklahoma, and west and north of the Texas-New Mexico border is officially a Yankee.
