Yep. That whole society needs to be thrown on the ash heap of history.

Surprise surprise—Afghanistan is a perpetual backwards shithole.

This has been known for a century or more. It sucks that we wasted 20 years and a couple trillion dollars trying to fix them. It was never going to work.

There will always be motivation to keep lawless portions of the world, lawless.

How are we going to sell weapons when we need a war?

No external force is keeping those people like they are.

That’s what they are. Leave them alone. They have nothing to offer.

Yeah, I'll never buy into that line of thinking.

Dick Cheney, is that you?

Who else do we need to control and save?

Is your argument that the culture is of value (bacha bazi, etc) or that we as Christians / westerners are morally obligated to try to force them to change?

are you suggesting that I'm stumping for saving Afghanistan?

You're not paying attention you potato.

Follow along little one, if you can:

lawless portions of the world make for excellent black markets. Black markets that say would benefit nations who like to sell weapons. Nations who need their weapons manufacturing arms to make money. Nations who have agencies who are great at starting wars. You see where I'm going with this?

Yeah, they got nothing to offer. Sure, Jan. The CIA would like a word.

Not at all. I'm simply pointing out that there are elements of our country that see places like this as opportunity.

I just want to send all the moslims here there. Let's make a deal with them, that we'll leave them alone if they accept them.

Very true.

In fact, someone needs to fix our problems first.

When Alexander the Great was riding around conquering the world, he said Afghanistan was worse than the a-hole of the world. He pulled his troops out immediately and went around. Determined it best to just stay away from Afghanistan and leave them to frick themselves.
