There's no coming back as one cohesive country again

A separation is going to occur, it's a matter of when and how. Our differences are unreconcilable.
It may still be years or even decades away but you can't have 100+ million people living with another 100+ million people where both sides consider the other side completely evil and that's where we are at. The groups are too big for one side to crush the other out of existence.
Like minded people banding together to have things the way they want is how countries are formed after all. That's what a country is.
How peaceful, prolonged, or messy the divorce is anybody's guess. What the final result of things will be is also completely up in the air. Two separate countries? Many geographical fragments? Every state for themselves? etc.

If the true commie/socialist/liberals are 15%, I'd be shocked.
Your estimation that they're half of the population is steeped in a very effective spell the MSM has woven and cast over the American people. It's simply not true, but when they control the media and rig the elections to support the notion, it's assumed to be true.

It was clear to me back to the re-election of Clinton in 1996 - the goals of roughly each "half" of the nation were just too different - irreconcilably so. Nothing since then has altered my thinking.

Disagree, in a fair primary Bernie would’ve been the nominee the last two rounds for the DNC.
It’s minimum 50-50 within that party socialist vs non-socialist. They view their socialist base the same way the RNC views the MAGA faction, but the MAGA faction is a much higher percentage of the party on the right.

I find it hard to see a reconciliation with the continued presence of Twitter, Facebook, etc. The MSM is bad enough but the prominent social media platforms are suicide for a functioning and respectful society.

Agree. To the extent that one side are actually Americans, who believe in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Founding Fathers, American exceptionalism, and Capitalism. Not only wrong, but ignorant. The only way the marxists survive a violent conflict is if they can get the military to annihilate, the very people who produce in this country.

Agreed. Biden's speech is only a symptom of a larger problem. That speech exists because his base has been calling Republicans racist, Nazis, and terrorists. How can you call Republicans those things and then expect people to just turn a blind eye to them? They're not. Progressives have heard the talking points, they believe the talking points, and they want big gov to act on the talking points.
They'll offer no unity. Why unify with Nazis? With people who you believe want you dead?

I say we split for a little while and when blue america starts to crumble after a couple weeks we send in the troops and crush them. This whole country belongs to us, frick surrendering the west coast and northeast to communists.

The optimist in me hasn't written it off yet.
If you turn off social media and turn off the TV/radio and go outside, you see people walking their dogs, going to the grocery, going to work, dropping off the kids, watching the kids practice, working on their lawns, etc.
Not a lot of bad stuff is going on except in the media.
