holding federal employees to the same standards as the private sector.

Do you think that's what is happening here? Cause this wouldn't happen in the private sector with anyone who knows what they're doing. I've been part of downsizing decisions....they're hard and not gleeful like this. It also typically has involved already knowing who did what and what you need going forward....this is just ridiculous, it's clear they're just making a mess, not so clear what they actually fixed or how it's being fixed....

We could fire 90% of the federal workforce and never notice they were gone. The past 4 years proves it.

No we are not. We are saying the email doesn’t separate the hard workers from the weak workers.

And it adds risk of being fired since it’s sent to someone not in our COC.

If DOGE was really intending to cut cost they could simply ask me to provide 5 examples of fraud, waste and abuse at my department.

This seems like an optimistic number you made up off the top of your head without knowing what most of the federal workforce does....

I’ve no desire to rehash this thread but this:

Highlights your bias. What was “gleeful” in the email? Or are you reading into what you want to believe?

"I worked in federal government for 7 years in the 90s and left for the private sector because the amount of work is not commensurate with the stress and pay."

So, Clinton fired your arse when he was downsizing the fed. FIFY

It’s not embarrassing it’s accountability. I wfh and submit KPIs each week and receive them from the team I manage. I can easily see what we did and what needs to be done at all times

I have a better understanding than most. The performance of the federal bureaucracy the past 4 years has been abysmal. They aren’t “working” from home. We’ve had to get Congressmen involved to fulfill basic records requests in cases I have been involved in. That’s a problem.

I’ve maintained a simple motto with every team I’ve ever had the privilege to lead, “control the controllables.”

Whether this email is effective or not doesn’t matter. It’s a simple task that’s easily accomplished. Say you investigated each of the five instances of fraud waste and abuse you mentioned.

I refuse to believe this is your first experience with what you feel is bad leadership. I genuinely hope it all works out for you.

One email goes out and a handful of posters start their period. This is sad.

I work hybrid which I prefer to fully remote or fully in person, not having to commute a couple times a week does wonders on energy levels and is some extra family time

The complaints about remote work in itself has to be coming from boomers - if you have a remote employee and you cannot tell if they are actually getting work done, that is on their manager. I dont get how anyone could have a direct report and not know if they are actually working

So, while many of us “Republicans” are happy that those people are getting processed out. Their are many like me that are a little tired of being lumped into their category

There are also the unintended consequences of this in the next election.

Do you all think all of these workers who are being pushed out and harrassed are ONLY Dems?

Do you believe that getting handled this way will benefit gaining votes?

What about the family impact—you think their family members who they will talk to about this will view this as favorable?

Will be interesting to see how this impacts the right. A lot of innocent ppl being caught up in this

If they work as hard as you say they do. Then they shouldn't have trouble filling out the form. Just because you work for the Government doesn't make you a patriot.

Were you around for NPR?

Al Gore, when he wasn't talking about creating the Internet, pretended he was trying to cut bureaucracy.

That probably sounds familiar.

Yes, when woke broke into the Navy training I decided my Navy and the new Leadership was changing. Instead of going further I decided to retire at 21 years.

This email will not do me or my team any good. It’s already creating panic, add that to hearing probational/ temp workers might be fired. As much as I love and root for this administration, I have not liked his plan on reducing fed workers. To me DOD should be except from this round. Get a good plan together before we attack the DOD.
