Everyone in this thread needs to be honest about this fact.
I mean even if everything about the video is as bad as advertised, this kind of bad shite happens to white people at the hands of blacks at an ENORMOUSLY large rate.
No one runs around saying shite like, "white people can't even go outside for fear of blacks just killing them for no reason".
Which, frankly, would be MORE true!

Well, race is playing a part in the media outrage too.

I imagine what I would do in the reverse situation: a white guy jogging through a black neighborhood, and a couple of black dudes in an impala follow me around, get out with guns drawn and say “we just want to talk to you!”
No fricking way I don’t immediately try something desperate to disarm them. My first assumption will be “these MF are going to kill me.”
He did nothing wrong. Both father and son should be in jail for man slaughter at minimum. 2nd degree murder at worst.
I imagine what I would do in the reverse situation: a white guy jogging through a black neighborhood, and a couple of black dudes in an impala follow me around, get out with guns drawn and say “we just want to talk to you!”

The main thing I'd say about charges is to make sure not to over charge and then end up with a friggin acquittal.
It's just going to very hard to prove murder to a legal standard.
But. They almost certainly can be shown to have engaged in actions that led to the young man's death.
Hell. Even if the guy wasn't really out for a jog, it's going to be damned hard to defend the decisions made by these dudes.

These people need to be charged at the very least. The video is pretty damning and to be honest I cannot see where the police and local DA can justify their inaction. If I were in that community I would be protesting the police.

This is something I don’t agree with.
I’ll say, as always, that a full investigation needs to be conducted and that I wish the video was a bit more complete.
However, it looks terrible to me and I can’t see any good reason why these guys weren’t arrested yet.
The initial reaction by police to not charge the white guys makes sense IF they hadn’t seen the video. A shooting in public where the shooters themselves call the police will usually take some investigating before charges can be brought. I don’t know what the police were thinking here.
But I’ll say again, as a law enforcement officer, that it looks like a serious crime was committed by the two shooters based on the video.
