I think it was Boosie that said this last night but BoarEd and his Band of Q Misfits have managed to unite the sane right and the left against Q. It's amazing really.

The top leadership of the US Military are very much "Wash DC Establishment Types" through and through. The folks who attain that lofty height know how to gain friends and influence people in Wash DC, as they operate through their role as a Top US Military figure. Military officers who are not that type of person will never reach that lofty height.
As such, you will never find a "revolutionary firebrand" in those offices. Those types are NEVER promoted to that lofty height. If you want to occupy those kinds of offices, you have to be an attractive, smooth-talking and savvy political animal, for sure.
