Do you think Trump somehow had his way with OPEC?

We were here already before him and he killed it. It took them almost four years to get back here in spite of him. This is all because of the private market working on private land.

The oil bust that happened in 2015-2020 was the result of cheap foreign oil saturating the market. It decimated the U.S. oil industry and Trump did nothing to stop it. In fact he took credit for it by claiming he made the country energy independent and gas cheap. The gas was cheap, but energy dependence was the result. Unfortunately for the U.S. production to be viable oil has to stay over $50 a barrel if not higher.

Well, we should have low gas prices and a full SPR then right?

Those were my first thoughts as well.

Why is our SPR historically low and why are gas prices still over $3?

Why?- Because we still rely on foreign oil purchasing. Now, why would we be exporting so much oil that is ours, and importing as much as we're exporting of the exact same product for a greater cost? It's the equivalent of asking your neighbor to mow your quarter-acre lawn for $50 and then agreeing to mow his quarter-acre lawn for $100.

We're subsidizing a bunch of middle eastern countries that harbor goat raping jihadis that want us dead.

What specifically did he do to "kill it"

And it looks like he's done an awful job of doing so

Trump isn’t really viewed as a friend to domestic oil producers.

Buddy, the Democratic party will try to kill the oil business, and everybody knows that, so reach deep and get a grip.

What would happen if we said that if gas isn't below $2/ga then no oil could be sent overseas?

This despite the dems efforts to put kinks and roadblocks into oil production.

Imagine what it would be if climate change fools weren't in charge.

Going from memory here but one of the first things he did was start revoking open leases and shutting down future ones on public lands.

We’ve been escalating production for a decade now.

Some of this added production comes from offshore oil fields like the Anchor field in the GOM operated by Chevron which only recently began production but was being developed for years…
