Collins is trying to get reelected. She needs to appear as moderate as possible this year.

I hope she loses. She's a weak link and bad influence.

What is this? The 13,796th time the media went crazy over something only to have it blow up in their face?

We need her. We won't get better in Maine. She was strong in Kavanaugh.

Romney being Romney but I'd bet Turtle has green lighted Collins to go this route.

They probably agree it's best for her re election hopes.

We'll get that seat back in Alabama and it will be a strong seat. I'm sick of worrying about what she does every time we need a unified front.

Sessions has a 21 pt lead in Alabama polls right now in the primary. I don't know if I'd call that a "strong" seat.

Now my guys in Arkansas, Tom Cotton and John Boozman... Those boys are frickin Maga as shite.

There was no discussion of witnesses at a Senate GOP lunch meeting Wednesday, which was held a couple hours after McConnell and Murkowski met for about 20 to 30 minutes.

That was seen as a sign by several senators that Democrats will fail to convince four Republicans to join them in calling for witnesses. Without a vote to hear from witnesses, the trial could end as soon as Friday.

Sessions isn't perfect but I trust him more than Collins.
