People like you is why democrats will not win an election in a long time. Crime in these city’s is through the roof . Time to clean up the Obama - Biden mess of leaving these thugs in the streets to sabotage Americans way of life. You bring your arse up to Chicago and live there.

JFK called up Mississippi National Guardsmen over the admission of James Meredith to the University of Mississippi...... LINK

Biden did the exact same thing. That door has been open for a while.

He's only deployed the guard in DC- a federal district. Until he tries to use them at the state level, I'd quit worrying.

When have the democrats held back because of what the Republicans do?
Damn near never. But there's a reason I don't vote for democrats. When did "we're just like democrats" become a republican value proposition?

Obama used the IRS to attack his political enemies.

The biden administration used corrupt AGs and DAs to attack Trump.

The door of abuse has been kicked down by the Dems.

I was just coming to post basically this.

Precedent has been well beyond set by the dems.

So a president can't use the guard for a legitimate act of curbing crime to protect the citizens because it is believed corrupt and abusive members of an opposing faction will use it as an excuse to use it for nefarious purposes?

You think they wouldn't violate our norms anyway in fighting their political enemies? Some of us need to grow a pair and realize we need to use legitimate power and stop laying down out of fear of what the other side might do when they have already demonstrated that they are willing to go beyond the pale.

This will not be a popular opinion on here but using the Guard to fight crime will open the door for extreme abuse of power once there is a Democrat back in office.

I would agree with you if the Guard was just going about arresting random citizens for a certain agenda; HOWEVER, it looks like they are patrolling the streets and helping out with the local law enforcement. Are they not? I would rather all crime be fixed and if the local police need help with that than why not?

it's worth aking "was it a good idea when democrats did it?"
Probably not. However, I don't think laying down and taking it is a good idea either. This will give democrats ZERO incentive to not do it again. Giving them a HUGE dose of their own medicine might though.

That is not what I said at all. My statement was simple. Democrats don’t care what republicans do, so to use that as a basis for what republicans should do is silly.

If you want to argue whether using the national guard is a good idea or not fine…but it has nothing to do with precedent.

It's definitely not desirable but what's the alternative? Let the cancerous shitholes continue to metastasize?

Let’s say the Governors of Chicago and California refused to mobilize their NG to help enforce the laws in their major cities? What should Trump do?

I dont' either. But the citizens of DC have continued to vote for their leadership. Ultimately, these are local problems. Not federal problems.

Got it man , you sit back keep being a puss and let the men do the work necessary .

All these handwringers can STFU. Presidents have done this before and used considerably more force.

No. But I fully understand why you want to make this about me, and not the merit of Trump's actions.

Of what? That democrats don't like the taste of their own medicine or that the democrats are bullies? When someone bullies you, you knock his teeth out. If he comes back again, you schedule his meeting with God.
