So tell me. Is someone who gets shot on the I-10 a federal case? Simple quesstion. Yes or no. Don't be angry if you are wrong.

No, and they aren't currently at the campus either.

I'm advocating for a new legal approach. That's the point of my post.

Generally people react to stimuli and maybe do something different in the future?

Our laws have changed drastically since the 1700s and will continue to do so.

So maybe in the future it can be a federal case if they want to pursue it as such.

Yeah, that won't create a complete nightmare of a precedent. The feds claiming jurisdiction wherever a federal penny has been spent. You are free to advocate for federal rights superseding state's rights but the 10th amendment might provide a little roadblock there. Can you point to the current justices you think would side with this rather precedent shattering stance that craps on states rights? Pretty much the same court that sent abortion rights back the the states?

Utah doesn't have the death penalty?

Actually Utah still has hanging as a form of capitol punishment.

Orem/Provo area is the most conservative area in the country. Utah executed someone in the last ten years or so by fire squad. I have many Mormon friends and they are highly pissed. Let them tie him to a pole and televise it!

You can ask Gary Gilmore about this. I doubt he answers, though.

Nope. Let the state handle it. Don't want the feds involved in any more than they need to be.

You do know things with far worse legal legs to stand on have been tried, right?

I think If you made it super specific, like for politically motivated crimes for instance, you could do it. Then you could also invoke it with leftoids try to block an interstate for a protest.
