That sounds great but unfortunately that’s just not possible for some things. At least not over night.

Just to be clear, these increases are bad right now so we should continue to suck Chinese pecker in perpetuity so we can have their cheap stuff is the argument?

Buy from India or Vietnam

The communist China supporters have been reduced to posting stories from reddit. Sad.

No, not at all but all these manufacturers doing price increases bc of the tariffs aren’t going to magically drop prices once it is settled.

What would be PorkSammich's method of getting the Chinese peen out of the American workers mouth?

So this business owner claims to now be paying 13× more money because of a 1.04× tariff increase? I've got lakefront property in AZ I'll sell him.

I only wish Biden had done this, just to have seen if this board would have supported this lol

For everyone talking about the wrong math, if she is talking about when the Chyna tariffs were at 7.5% on products a few years ago, then her math is correct.

Donnie needs to open a factory here to make all of his merch for his cult instead of having China make it for him.

I haven't had to buy anything other than groceries since this started. Surely Americans can restrain from buying wants vs needs for a few weeks while this all shakes out

Ding ding ding.

But we are a consumer culture - so don't really have high hopes there.

Eh, the problem with this take is it's part of Trump's pretty aggressive stance against China, which people do and should support. Biden was super China friendly. Even if Biden did THIS it wouldn't ring true, as the rest of his policies let China go hog wild.

It's not really a useful exercise. And you'll always have a minority that support either party or hate the other party for ridiculous reasons. That never goes away and shouldn't impact the validity of a decision.

Sounds like bs on the face of it as 104% tariffs on 26,000 would be 55,000 or so not 15x the past price

And buy from whom? Everyone is tariffed up in here and the US doesn’t have the manufacturing infrastructure to handle this.

Th US wouldn’t have the infrastructure for quite some time…

High Point, North Carolina is likely the world's largest furniture market and manufacturing location. Furniture "makers" from all over the world there every year. 95% of them are importing fabric or furniture from Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, China, etc.

I know because we work with them. Don't let them fool you. Everyone's importing.
