The Supreme Court nominee needs to be voted on before the midterm elections.

Doing so will back red state Democrats who are vulnerable in the midterms (like Joe Manchin and Claire McCaskill) into a corner and possibly force them to vote to confirm the nominee.

I see this as a lose-lose-lose proposition for the Dems.

If they let Trump push through a Justice, they lose their base.

If they block Trump’s Justice, they lose additional seats in November.

If they wait until January, Trump will push someone further to the right through because the Republicans will gain seats.

I don’t see how they get a boost out of this considering they are at a distinct disadvantage this Senate cycle.

But, after what's his name died, Mitch said we had to wait until after the elections because the president will be voted on by the people to make the choice. Doesn't that logic apply to the US Senate? Of course they'll push a new justice before the election and it may backfire on them. I can see some voters not voting for a Republican who voted to confirm a justice who is anti Roe v Wade. It can cut both ways.

Ok, Ralph. We can wait until after the election.

Have fun with an additional 4+ seat swing to the right because people know the stakes involved.

Hollywood, msm and democrat politicians are going to go full retard on the Republicans.. before the vote.. regardless of the nomination.

They are going to spew bs like "harass them everywhere, get in their faces and tell them how you feel about their oppression. We must use whatever means possible to stop them from perverting the supreme court ".

Then when another nutjob takes a shot at republican politicians.. we'll get to hear about how it wasn't political.

Of course not.

That is silliness.

It isn't a NATIONAL election and it isn't even ALL of the Senators. The false equivalency is dunderheaded at its most charitable.

Listening to Hannity on radio on my drive...Trump will nominate within the next 30 days, before the seat is even empty on the 31st of July.

But, could this help them during the mid-terms becasue they will be able to use panic mode to potentially get more Dems out to vote?

Good ole what’s his name. Educated voters learning from education and well informed posters. If you don’t know or remember, open a window and google. Antonin Scalia.

No.
One is the executive the other is legislative.
One is term limited and the other is not.
Proof, Crying Chucky is trying to make the same argument!

Let’s see throwing raw meat to the base and removing the immediacy of the issue from “moderates” who might disagree. Not.

Like it did for prolife Trump? Me too.

Not sure how they can do this, we changed the rules with Gorsuch.
