Question. How many votes do you need in the Senate to overcome the filibuster and pass the CR? You don’t know do you?
you sound like the type of guy that says constitutional republic a lot
it's up to the party in power to negotiate an agreement. buy into the spin all you like but that's the truth

The entire airline industry is heavily government subsidized. If airports had to pay for their own services fares would double overnight and the big carriers would pull out of all but the largest airports.
People who live near large airports would be ok, but everyone else would suffer immensely.
Exactly.
Now, one could argue that people flying way less might not be the worst thing in the world. One silver lining of COVID is that it did normalize virtual meeting technology for people.
There's no reason for the majority of business flights anymore.
But anyone arguing for ceasing to subsidize them needs to be aware of hat it would mean.

how many times have airlines been bailed out/loans/bankrupt?
IAC (houston) is generally controlled by the same batch of morons that run harris co.
except, most of those are "appointed positions" so no real voting options.for citizens.
the whole industry needs to crash (not literally) and be rebuilt on a true market value model.
suddenly the airlines would be begging for travelers
and I'd bet blue cities peel off a bunch of the Fed $$$ for their airports
another slush fund?

The airport system is completely f'd right now... Its a 3hr wait time to get through security at Bush Intercontinental this afternoon/night.
That’s crazy. I’ve been to San Jose, Ohare, Denver, Dallas, and Ft Lauderdale airports since the shutdown and never had more than a 5 minute wait in TSA Pre.

They're literally snaking a line outside the terminal

My daughter went through there yesterday. Missed her flight. Said TSA knew people were up against deadlines and didn't give 2 shits. Had 2 lines operating the entire day.

When I flew through Schipol airport (Netherlands) several years ago, they had all the scanners at each gate. The aircraft crew for the flight that was actually leaving did security for that flight.
It was done very well. If there was a security issue that got past, they would be directly affected.
It was done very quickly and thoroughly.

Is this some kind of provision in the law?

It should become unconstitutional at some point. Nothing says so, but there are avenues to sue and those should be explored. Congress has a duty a constitutional duty.

It's a minimum reduction in force (RIF) notification window.
