Who will cave first Schumer or Trump?
Once this becomes known as the Schumer Christmas Shutdown, I think Schumer caves.
The dims have to be idiots to shutdown the gov't over $5 Billion for a partial wall.

I would say Schumer because he has the support of the lib media, but since it's the holidays and these lib frickers probably won't be as active as usual blaming Trump, so Trump has a good chance of putting the blame on Schumer, and therefore get the $5 billion and the win.

I think this will be the longest shutdown in the history of the US government. Neither side has a political reason to cave. And I don't see a deal that either side can live with.
This will go past Jan 3rd. I think at that point Congress overrides Trump's veto to fund the government which will play right into Trump's hand for reelection.

Nancy Pelosi is in the worst position of all of this. Nothing can get done until she is formally sworn in as the next Speaker and then when she is sworn in they are going to throw her to the wolves because she is going to cave because Cali needs to be reimbursed for the natural disasters.

It's funny...in a weird twist...The Dems won't agree to funding of the wall based on historical standards...their base won't get across the border.
But now, it would be a tacit acceptance they've fricked up for so long and an endorsement of Trump.

Agreed. I can easily see it extending into the Spring.
It actually benefits Trump too because it will suck all the oxygen out of their 85 investigations they are supposed to start. They can’t really do that until they solve the shutdown.
Ultimately they might override the veto and then the GOP Senators that like to play both sides would be exposed as well.
