I have a niece. She is a recovering drug addict. Stole shite and ended up in jail for a year. She got clean while she was inside. She dropped out of school after 8th grade, but she went and flipped burgers at McDonald's. Now, she is a manager.
I worked two jobs through college, paid my own rent and bills, and lived off of ramen and Lipton instant pasta. I didn't have a vehicle. I bought a bike from the Salvation Army in Lafayette and made due.

There are no legitimate reasons why these people can't find work. Go flip burgers and pay some fricking rent, man.

Really? Forever?

How about you taking this gentleman into your home and you can personally help him.

Any money the government spends that does not advance the American people is a waste and might as well be set on fire.

You didn't answer his question.

"Advancing the American people" is sufficiently broad as to be meaningless.

With the mention of a communal bathroom, I took it to mean he was just renting a room, and that he didn't have running water in his specific room, but it was available in the building.

I can see that. Especially at $450 a month. (Good luck finding a room that cheap where I live. But anyway...)
Though I can't think of many houses that have running water in a rental room.
So I don't know why the reporter wouldn't figure that out.

Brings up a question. If there's no running water at all, wouldn't that communal bathroom not have water? No running water to toilet would also be a big violation.
Is it an outhouse?

NGL this and other holes in the story about a homeless guy being able to give plasma, (tho there are some still able to) makes me think a lot of this boo-hoo story is made up.

We should bring back the work houses. Assemble parts or clean stuff and you get 3 hots and a cot.

If we did implement a program like that, and it worked, you'd still have liberals calling it demeaning slave labor late stage capitalism.

I'm not saying you have to take him in but we should take care of our fellow Americans when they can't.

People like you who don't understand the difference between can't and won't are a huge problem.
