that’s great example of my point: gender in language and biology aren’t the same.
You’re so far out of your depth. You haven’t thought two inches past your nose on this topic. But here you are, pontificating as if you should be taken seriously. You should not.

would that make the anorexic girl feel better or worse?
Idc how the anorexic girl “feels”.
I care about fixing her mental issue, not confirming her incorrect belief about herself.

And a biological norm is that Homo sapiens are not able to change their sex like some animal species are able to do.
Also, I’m glad you admit that transgender people do not exist.

"Sarah" McBride apparently had no issue with it.
Mr. McBride responded, “Thank you madame chair.” Sounds like he had an issue with it.
Meh. An exchange of one subtle insult for another subtle insult.
Welcome to "civility" in modern politics
Only another progressive homo that hates America can form that opinion.

I'm on the fence...I really am. What is worse, being a guy who thinks wearing a dress makes him a woman or the idiot rep who goes way out of his way to make an issue how the guy is addressed?
Both are equally reprehensible.

You've lost the argument. I would just STFU at this point. Your talking points sound great on MSNBC, but in reality - not so much.

Another lie he told.

Should have replied... "yes this is the united states and we are not required to pander to peoples perversions"

It’s crazy what has happened. Biological gender, gender identity and sexual preference. A lot of combinations we are supposed to address appropriately in our daily business and social interactions. Keep it simple and don’t be offended if you’re addressed by your biology.

Language either has referents or no meaning. You’re currently arguing (on only a limited basis) for the second.

Mermaid ... Marmot.
I just wanted consonance for parallelism with the potato/potato, and "marmot" was the only fat little rodent starting with an "M" that came to mind.

language only has the meaning we assign to it
you want to lean on science as empirical truth to hide the fact that you just want to be an a-hole when it comes to how you act in a social situation.

No, it doesn’t only have the meaning that we assign to it. It has the meaning that the entire culture has assigned to it. So .5% of the culture doesn’t get to say “Us figs are changing the cultural meaning of pronouns.” The figs are slowly finding that out.
