Why do you think DeSantis should wait when his stock is riding at an all time high?

Also, Politics are cyclical and I would bet that a Trump win in 2024 will create a huge momentum swing for the Dems in 2028 and that gives them plenty of time to develop their bench and try and find another Obama or Bill Clinton. DeSantis would be a slam dunk to win the Presidency if he is the nominee. His momentum would just as likely by gone by 2028 and he would face a tougher environment after another four years of Trump and a stronger Democrat candidate.

Trump carries too much baggage and it too toxic to a large portion of American public....

Because his brand takes a huge hit when he likely loses to Trump in 2024 and he limps into 2028 as a loser. Do you not remember what happened to Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and all of those other candidates? On the contrary, he can sit this round out, keep his extremely high popularity, and be a near shoe in as the nominee for 2028.

Did Trump not endorse Cruz after 2016?

Trump crippled Cruz and Rubio's chances of ever being the GOP nominee

Ted Cruz was phenomenally more popular a few years ago than pre-2016.

Rubio was always a nobody.

Sorry but this is a false narrative, along the lines of ‘the election was legit, 81 million people hated A soaring economy and mean tweets so they voted for an imbecile’

Sorry but this is a false narrative,

You're insane if you don't realize Trump is toxic as hell.

I can admit that and I would vote for the guy 100 out of 100 times.

By the time the election rolled around the economy wasn’t soaring and Trump was responsible for paying people to sit at home and created the whole mess we are still in. His Covid response was a disaster. He shut the country down over a cold

Do you not remember how the media painted Romney in 2012? He was toxic to the mainstream media too. George Bush was a pariah by the end of his presidency.

Whoever the GOP nominee is will become an instant "Enemy of the State" for the DNC.

Why do so many folks wish to see a Trump/DeSantis battle?

There is no way that is beneficial to anyone.

No one is wishing to see a "battle".

We all want the same thing.....and that's for our country to turn around for the better.

That being said....it does seem like some people really are bent on a "Trump or Nobody" train.

LOL- its not false.....people voted against Trump as much as anything. He lost ground in swing states with suburban voters and the election shenanigans in the deep blue urban areas put it over the top for the Dems.

What do you think is going to change?

The fact that Washington D.C. is holding Hollywood produced public hearings to actively try and damage President Trump over an unarmed protest at the Capitol is all I need to know about who we need to support in 2024.

Those same despicable people were in full support of burning the nations cities in 2020 after George Floyd resisted arrest with narcotics in his system.

If Trump has shown anything, he’s shown that he will go scorched earth against his competition. Why would Desantis subjugate himself to that. This same crowd that’s all over Desantis nuts can’t seem to see that the man is much smarter than that

See original post in this thread. 3 swing states passing election integrity laws. Many more on the way.
