And failing miserably at it I might add.....but hey keep swinging for the fences and wasting that donor money....no one in Florida gives a frick about Newsome's opinion...people in California don't either. That clown and his idiot backers are seriously deluded if he thinks he can beat DeSantis....hell just contrast their records as Governors....Newsome's biggest accomplishment has been winning his re-call election.....and banging Kimberly Glifoyle for which I will give him credit.

Oh it’s fricking hilarious Gavin Newsom of all people is calling out DeSantis. If it’s DeSantis vs Newsom, it’s an apples to apples comparison. Newsom runs the largest state and DeSantis runs the third. Let’s go through those statistics one by one and see who wins. Other than perhaps the weather (which DeSantis gleefully points out you have to be threatened to leave a place with as good of weather as California), Florida has it beat in every regard. DeSantis would uniquely wipe the floor with Newsom. But if Newsom wants to keep picking fights with him, then I invite him to do so.

Watch out for NC.

They could’ve flipped that state last time had they needed it with the governor and an activist SOS running the show.

Do you know how many people in history have waited for their turn and didn’t seize their moment when it called to them just to be lost in history? I’m sorry, you are in a cult and are quite frankly stupid. He very much has a shot against Trump and it’s his time to take it. DeSantis is at the Rubicon, and he needs to cross it early next year.

Is Trump running against Hillary? Because that’s his only chance of winning. Dude got obliterated by Biden for christ sakes.

And people now know what a bad President actually looks like. I still think Trump would win the general n 2024, but he’s still a gamble. DeSantis is not. Even the Democrats openly acknowledge no one on their side could beat DeSantis in 2024. It’s the delusional Trump cultists that can’t see this.

You’re wishful thinking is deluding you. Trump has national name recognition far bigger what any 2024 competitor can bring to the table. He has a national campaign apparatus that’s astronomically larger than anything a challenger could build. Few will line up to see Ron Desantis give a speech during primary season in 2023. Tens of thousands will wait all day to see President Trump.

Desantis isn’t foolish enough to give up a potential spot as the man in 2028.

He’s not dumb enough to alienate millions in the Trump base.

I would say it's even more dumb to allow that to alienate you. Are you saying you're gonna stay home if Desantis wins the nomination?

Not everyone in Trump's base is as cultish as you're assuming.

Yeah and that is the problem.....

Giving a speech to 10,000 like minded followers in a deep red state isn't indicative of enough mass appeal to winning a general election. He is just preaching to the already converted. Don't get it twisted.

Trump's drawing a massive crowd in ALASKA in July of 2022. Ron Desantis does not have this type of draw. I don't believe he's dumb enough to tarnish his political reputation by going head to head against an extremely popular former Republican President.

Some Republicans can't see the forest for the trees with how 2024 will shape up.

Sounds like a nice problem to have for the GOP, Trump or DeSantis. Dems have who?

Uhmmm, he beat Hillary Clinton in 2016 and most of the Republican party agrees that he would've won in 2020 without the massive mail in ballot harvesting that came into play due to the pandemic.

He got 77 million votes by the way. Little higher than 10,000.

Answer the question. Will Trump's base stay home in 2024 if Desantis wins the nomination?

Trump's base won't support Desantis in a primary so it's an irrelevant point. Desantis is incapable of getting to point A because there's no way for him to get to point B.

I've been saying for years that the political spectrum isn't a line....it's a circle.

You go far enough either direction and you'll find the two are the same person.
