I do know.
I have been in RE way longer than you. I bought my first flip in 2000 when I was 20 years old, so I have ridden the waves good and bad.
50-year mortgages do zero to address true affordability and will inflate already over-inflated values.
Don't get me wrong, the inflated prices will be great for me when I retire and sell off some rental houses, but it will be bleak for future generations.
I shouldn't care at all, and deep down, I guess I don't, but I can acknowledge it's bad policy.

your Chicago school of economics education is showing. Tariffs are a tax on foreign businesses, and I have no problem taxing foreign businesses.
yes, we have IQ’s and understand that there has to be a limit to these rebates. but the $2k isn’t going to throw our balance sheet out of whack.
Embrace Trump-Bessent economics, it’s not gonna hurt you.

do you realize that any and all entitlement programs are “socialist” by definition? i’m sorry to break it to you, but there will always be some level of wealth redistribution. and i say this as a small-government conservative.

The loan is about getting ppl into homes. Everyone on here cries about this. And the amount of ppl that would need this is a small % and wont cayse values to increase 50% like all the morons on here claim
Nor will anyone pay 900k in interest sitting in the loan for 50yrs
Its a low iq tard talking point and we know this cause the usual suspects are saying that

You voted for McCain and Romney but bitch about everything Trump does. A 50 year note isn’t going to put a Walmart cashier into a 500k house. IF you flip houses like you claim then you know finding anything under 150k that isn’t falling in is rare and if a struggling family wants to finance a 150k house for 50 years so they don’t have to rent then they should have that option.

This may not be that bad of a direction. The sane people would just have to keep them from going 1 step too far. They’d clean up the h1b problems, welfare, and immigration pretty swiftly.
They’d clean up the lgbt/tranny mess via book burnings a la hirschfeld library style.
They’d clean up the interest and banking disasters by eliminating usury that pervades our culture.
We would just need to keep them from going too far. But a lot of shite we wanted would get done.
The only problem is Gen Z males really are earning their nickname of generation zyklon. And that’s a scary thought. You’re gonna have communists vs nazis for our political systems in the future.

As usual, this isn't about me, it's about Trump's policies, which you chose not to defend.

There are better ways to do this but they come with more headwind that Trump hasn't even tried to address. He gave hints about some of those, including rolling back overreaching permits and EPA obstructions.

There are numerous studies that show when people get like a $200 raise, they spend that instead of living as they were before and saving that $200. Acting like people will not opt into a 30-year mortgage over a 50-year mortgage to save a few hundred per month that they can spend elsewhere is obtuse. Some who are financially responsible will but those are in the minority in our society.
They will also use it to buy a much more expensive house than they normally would.
Both of those things already happen in the auto industry with 84 month notes now a thing. Not sure why you think that won't spread to RE.

For someone who has been in RE since '99 it's crazy how much you forget the cause and effect of subprime lending or 2020 and how prices went parabolic when demand grew.
