Longevity is going to be your issue, just like it is in every fund raiser. Based on the posts on this thread, about $17M came in during the first week. Only about $1M came in during the second week.
If you charted the other top campaigns, they would likely look very similar.

As well as general public support. 300,000 people is completely nothing, it’s not sending any type of message about anything.
Everyone already knows that the right wants the wall. Signing your name to a stupid petition that says “I really really want the wall, and I’m willing to pledge $20 to show you!!” doesn’t move the needle for a single person anywhere.

To pile on, it is averaging less than 30 cents per trump voter, which also speaks volumes.
Talk is cheap. So are chants at a rally, apparently.

GoFundMe is apparently shutting this down in accordance with their policies for fundraising efforts that have no chance to meet the goal.
1.8% of the goal after 15 days.

I won my office pool, though! I guessed there would be 300,000 donors for a total of $18M by New Years day!!! We went to a Sports bar after work and I bought drinks for everyone.
Any experienced fund raiser knows you have to secure over half of funds from just a handful of donors, and preferably before you even announce your campaign. This effort was going nowhere unless they could find $600M from just 2 or 3 donors. If they really wanted $5 Billion, well, that wasn't going to happen.

Why does this movement bother you?
Can private citizens not do what they want with their own money?
Some put $2500 rims on a $500 POS, some donate for border security. To each his own baw.

Our government doesn't need to be handed any more of our money, for any reason. This idiot tax and those who contribute to it deserve the ridicule.
