What in the world would you like me to contribute? The OP is posted with data backing it up. Then there’s just a bunch of ‘melt’ comments. And a picture of the collosseum with a few centimeters of snow around it as if it’s a point. It will snow in places that get rain and also get below freezing at times during the year. It was like a miracle on this board when it snowed last year in Louisiana, in a place where it rains and gets below freezing nearly every year. The subject at hand wasn’t addressed, and I highlighted that.

It snowed in Baton Rouge in measurable amounts TWICE this winter. Once in December and once in January. Brrrr......

There hasn’t been one comment that seriously refuted the point. I think that says a lot.

what exactly is the point? It's hot in the North Pole right now temporarily, it's cold as shite other places, frigging snowing in Italy. How many times have we had to hear that local weather is not climate?

Well, let's see. We are only 1 degree celsius above average. Your worst case scenario goes 4 degrees celsius above average.

But wait, for the sake of simplification, 1 degree celcius is only about .5 degree fahrenheit.

In conclusion, your misleading chart shows we are .5 degrees fahrenheit above average with a worst case scenario of 2 degrees fahrenheit.

The horror.

So there was precipitation in winter when the temperature was below 32?

And that is used as a point...

If they want to have some balls and come agree with me they can I just don’t expect it, but PLENTY on here have agreed the earth is warming. Human involvement has become the new debate. I can’t keep up with 10 different opinions of what’s actually happening requiring 10 different people debating. If the North Pole is 50 degrees above normal and the comments are ‘well it’s cold somewhere else’ then that means you think the earth isn’t even warming and I honestly can’t keep up with all the many personality changes. If we’re back to not even thinking the earth is warming then just say that.

Singular time/place data points are meaningless, except for the times and places where I can have them be meaningful to MY narrative!!!

Incoherent? You think it’s a miracle that snow forms when it rains in a place that gets below freezing almost every year

Meh - it isn't warming significantly. We're on an uptrend, slightly. I can't get stressed out and sign onto a plan that is clearly a global Marxist redistributionist scheme just to avoid a few tenths of a degree of warmth. I can say that confidently.

The rest of this debate, especially from your side, is just pure entertainment for me.

I've never understood the anti-environment tendencies of the right. I mean a lot of the right consists of rural folks...folks who love their guns, love God, big on family traditions and such. Conservationism is a HUGE part of hunting...you take care of the land, you kill only what you'll eat, you want good soil for crops and gardens, etc.

The goals of environmentalists (not the wacky treehuggers, but true climatologists and the like) is to conserve the planet. Take care of it..take care of nature. That means burn less fossil fuels which we know beyond a shadow of a doubt cause air pollution. We know that allowing farmers or factories to pollute our waterways with their industrial runoff is harmful to both humans and animals. We know that strip mining ruins animal habitats, same with clearing forests for houses and such.

Why would a conservationist hunter be against taking care of the Earth? I mean, never mind climate change, just for the ways in which industries pollute and impact our water, air, and land should be enough to make people support initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint.

It's just another example of how politics have gotten in the way of pragmatism. It's pretty damn sad, really.

Wait - you believe that snow is merely frozen rain? Good to know.

China uses half of the world's coal and you say they are getting their act together. Do you now think coal is fine to use?
