You don't have to watch the games to gamble on em. Probably better for the heart not to anyway.

Just have the m effers wear flags. Flag football. What a joke. Ads show football highlights from the 60s 70s and 80s. Please don’t hit me.

i'll be fine without any sports at all. already cancelled espn+ because of "stay at home" covid commercials in between rounds streaming ufc fights.

will not watch any nfl games this year with racist arse players who think being a certain race means something.

may or may not watch college ball, we'll see how it goes.

all sports are is a diversion and something to unwind with on the weekend. they aren't important and never have been.

if people are only building character through playing sports, i feel sorry for them.

while i'm at it, frick disney and their attack on children.

I hate the NFL but from Cleveland and lived in Tampa so I have to watch the Browns and Bucs and my only hope is for a Browns v Bucs Super Bowl in Tampa. If that is not a sign of the end times, nothing is.

eta: as for sports on tv in general, I will follow golf but just bought 2 inflatable kayaks. Going to be spending my time outdoors enjoying nature. Looking at electric bikes too.

I tend to hate the idea of boycotts. But at this point we really should boycott the NFL, and if politics seep into college athletics, then that too.

It’s nothing personal, and I understand these players feel like they have a platform and thus a duty to speak up. But every athlete needs to understand they only have that particular platform because there are fans who care about the sport. Enough of those fans get pissed off because they are tired of the political bullshite, and stop watching, then where will the sport be? And what kind of platform would the player then have?

So yes, for the folks who are already tired of it, a boycott of the NFL (and potentially other leagues) should be enacted.

Part of the NFL, and especially NBA going international is they are less dependent on the Average American customer. Sure they care, but they are making bank regardless.

I find it hard to believe that international viewership could keep these leagues running. But whatever, even if they could, the folks who are fed up should still stop watching. There is nothing magical about professional sports which means it must exist. And fans who are fed up shouldn’t be held hostage of listening to narratives they don’t agree with.

And yes, whether it breaks the league or not, if the average American viewer tunes out, the leagues will take a big hit in the pocketbook.

I stopped paying attention to the NFL when I moved to Gainesville in 1980 from SW PA. You couldn't live in SW PA and not be a Steelers fan in the late 70s.

But I fell in love with CFB in general and the Gators and SEC specifically. I would be happy to see the Steelers in the Super Bowl, but beyond that couldn't GAF.

Now I don't GAF about the Steelers either.

Honestly boycotting the sport is the difficult part, a more productive means of protest is stated boycotts of the NFL’s sponsors. When the left gets mad, that’s the means they use.

I have no interest in the nfl anymore. Saints won a super bowl so I can die a happy man and never watch another nfl game. They’ve ruined it for me

I continued to watch the NFL last time when my friends were refusing to watch because I love football. I’m strongly now considering to not watch it at all.
