I often wonder if X was created to create mass confusion. We don’t know what’s real anymore

You can't really trust X any longer for information. Twitter was the GOAT for collating information about the Syrian Civil War, which in hindsight is clearly part of the larger Iran-Israel-US war that has been ongoing since 2003.
The position itself is likely not in limbo and there are lots of reasons why Khamenei the younger would be interested in leading, as various recent deaths have paved the way for the members of the Habib Battalion, a group formed during the Iran-Iraq War, to finally reach the upper echelons of power. Secondly, the younger Khamenei is a lecturer at a large Islamic seminary in the Iranian city of Qom. He suspended his lectures in 2024 after the death of Ebrahim Raisi and raised his public profile, visiting several Hezbollah fighters. The process for selecting the leader is determined by The Guardian Council, and the process itself is secret. Regardless, of all the candidates remaining, the younger Khamenei is probably the favorite.

The Islamic Republic is over. It long lost legitimacy in the eyes of the people and the military leadership enforcing compliance will not be alive much longer. It's not like we're toppling an internally beloved regime in the name of imperialism. Iran isn't like Afghanistan where the will of the Taliban is in line with the average Afghani, there's way too much underlying secularization in Iran historically. Even if it were to be a heavily religious country the current form of government is over...if for no other reason than because we said so
The tenure of anyone else declared "Ayatollah" is never hitting a year

We’re not going to have to.
Our unrelenting aerial assault combined with Israel and the Mossad is more than enough.
Infrastructure isn't people. The strikes have been very effective, but if you want real change in Iran someone is going to have to put boots on the ground. I would hope in a few days we see a ramp down in airstrikes and an "organic" Iranian people's uprising.

After seeing how tuned Israel intelligence is to Iranian leadership, scientists, etc, it's reasonable to believe this.

No longer a job with much room for growth and development.

I'm wondering, based upon everything I could find, if he even agreed to take the job?
I'm seeing a lot of Xeets saying he turned it down.
I read that the IRGC is pushing for him, but the religious leaders are oppoed.

They’ll keep working their way down the list until they get to either the guy who walked the Ayatollah’s dog or the sous chef who prepared it for Ayatollah’s dinner.
