It's simple. Trump has an exact goal. He would love nothing more than to exact revenge on Democrats by being a or the key factor in Republicans taking both chambers of Congress in 2022. Wherever there are believed to be competitive races, he will do whatever he can to help the Republican candidate win. Lee's race is expected to be one of those. Trump knows better than to nit pick....that's how a party divides itself and gets its arse kicked.
They won't all be the most ideal candidates ever, perhaps, but frankly there must simply be more Repubs win than Dems.

If there's one senator that deserves to lose his seat, it's Mike Lee.

He needs to go to war with the swamp and not help any of them . He doesn’t have to play nice now . At the very least if he is going to help them then he needs to force them to have Mitch and Romney retire and put Cruz in Mitches spot.
