Yah the GOTV is clearly nonexistent in LA compared to a Wisconsin

The GOP has basically always been a ghost in Louisiana. As a youth one registered Democrat as there was no GOP opposition of any consequence - if you wanted to vote there was the Democratic primaries - there were no GOP primaries.
Believe Dave Treen and Buddy Roemer to be the only GOPers of consequence if my memory serves correct.

The good news is the Democrats should be eating each other alive in 2023, and the Republicans have a fairly deep bench. Unfortunately I don't think they will run their best candidate... Sharon Hewitt.

The problem goes back a lot farther than Villere. The LA GOP has always been more interested in fighting amongst themselves for dominance of the party instead of being any kind of united org. North LA evangelicals vs. more socially moderate South LA business people/Catholics.
I'd say there's been some improvement with that under Villere but there's not much he can do with the state committee (historically the source of the infighting). It was a huge joke in the 90's when I was involved.
The LA GOP can't be blamed for Rispone. They tried to help him but his campaign wanted nothing to do with them, instead relying on out-of-state grifters.

BULL shite. the LaGOP can be blamed for not getting its act together and offering a better candidate long before Rispone made his run and long before they got RA to run.
again, the LaGOP needs to get its shite together and start being proactive as an indication it wants to win the Govs seat. They fricking suck, plain and simple. I don't care if the won every other office in the state. They completely bungled the run for governor.

I loathe posts and threads like these.
Tell ‘em Jim, but they won’t listen.
They believe there is a back room where people meet to pick a candidate for each office.
Good post

The Rispone campaign turned down the LA GOP's help, instead choosing to spend exorbitant amounts on outdated data and models when the LA GOP had a superior product it would've provided for free. This has been reported. Read the links I posted earlier in the thread. Republican candidates won up and down the ballot.
I'm not saying the LA GOP's help would've won it for Rispone, just that they can't be blamed for his loss.
