Technically we're a republic and not a democracy, but yeah they are a greater threat. Some would even say the greatest threat.

But that's the problem with (somewhat) democratic forms of government
Their undermining of democracy itself (the election of DJT) in the near term is less concerning than their undermining of other American norms in the long term.
