It's important to step back and realize that an impeachment vote in the House basically ends the Presidential campaigns of Warren, Sanders, Harris, Klobuchar, and Booker due to the Senate trial (attendance mandatory Monday - Saturday by all members) such a vote would necessitate.

Sanders supporters not backing Hillary is one of the top 3 (maybe the top) reasons she lost to Trump.

There is no way that the Dems will kneecap the Presidential campaigns of candidates who enjoy between 30% and 43% (depending on the poll) nationally among their primary voters.

There is no way that the Dems will kneecap the Presidential campaigns of their three highest polling female candidates and their 2 highest polling minority candidates.

While I think you’re right..... never underestimate what desperation can lead to. Few thought they’d start an impeachment inquiry over an anonymous leaker accusing Trump of exactly what Biden did, but they keep going down this path and I’m not sure how they can reverse course from here

I think that the Dems might just keep these Hearings and accusations rolling right through Election Day just to have a platform to continue to attack Trump. If they had an Official Impeachment Vote, don't these Hearings halt at that moment?

I said this yesterday. I think this is exactly why you are wrong.

Look Pelosi is a count, but not a moron. Sanders and Warren are awful for the Democrat party if it intends to compete nationally. They will pull the 20% far left and will likely win states in the primary, but could never win in a general.

The more those two continue to draw support, the more fractured the Democrats become on a national stage.

Pelosi sees that. Shes a whore for power. A senate trial is the easiest way to pave the way for poor Biden who will likely make poopy in his pants on stage.

Hearing fatigue will set in and with nothing of substance, Dems are just digging their own graves which, in the end, will cost them the House.

They have no evidence. IF it goes to vote and a trial takes place, they will have to follow rules and will get embarrassed. This is just meant to muddy the waters in hopes of helping dems in 2020 election.

I think Pelosi is smart enough to realize that a Dem nominee Biden is Trump's wet dream. Nobody in the party likes him - the only people who like him are uneducated black voters who dont follow politics.

He is a weaker candidate than Jeb Bush was.

McConnel already told Republicans to expect a 4-5 week trial starting early December.

You should be more concerned that MCConnell is in on the plot.

Impeachment articles pass House by end of November. Trial in Senate could start within days.

The whole thing is over by New Year's. That would work just fine for Dems especially if Trump out is the payoff.

Game it out. Your Mitch McConnell and you want 3 things.

1. Get rid of Trump.
2. Damage Democrats.
3. Position Republicans to survive the fallout.

I wouldn't bet against McConnell in a game like this.

He thinks Pence/Haley is a winning ticket.

Agree.

He's a bag of hot air.

He's their best shot. Let that sink in.

BC he knows it's not going to happen IMO.

The Senate impeaching Trump would kill the GOP for at least 10 years and would give rise to true far right movements and potentially a civil war. Makes zero sense.

So, Dem Senators slamming Trump in an Impeachment Trial wouldn't be 'campaigning'? Hell, given their Policy ineptitude...they'll do better on the Floor of the Senate than on the Road.

Now if McConnel puts out a List of Witnesses, up front...with Schiff and Biden heading it up, that will weigh heavy.

cocaine Mitch ain’t sacrificing his seat to collide with Dems to take out trump. He’s up for re-election in 2020 and his handling of this situation will be fresh in the voters minds bc trump can still run in 2020 and won’t let the faithful Kentuckians forget

No, they won't. There won't even be a vote.

Who engaged in corruption on an International Scale.

There will never be a vote, because at some point the Democrats will be unable to avoid public hearings on this issue.

Agree in regards to corruption.

But you're giving too much credit to 50% of Americans. You could have Biden on video admitting to a quid pro quo and they would ignore it for partisan reasons. There will be a vote. They need to have the talking point that he's been impeached.

You’re probably right, but they can vote on articles of impeachment, which they will, then just sit on the vote to impeach indefinitely.
