I always looked forward to the fake earnestness local white news anchors would show when they were doing their yearly Kwanzaa stories. You could tell they didn't know wtf they were talking about but they always looked like they "cared".

Best part of Kwanzaa is that it celebrates Swahili when most black people come from west Africa. It's like having a european holiday where everyone celebrates Italian customs.

Kwanza was definitely something that appeared in elementary school for me. Our teachers/books held it in the same regard as Christmas or Hanukkah.

Why do people even CARE where Kwanzaa comes from?
You want to celebrate Potato Dumpling Day, go for it. So long as it doesn't involve firing potato dumplings out of a high-powered air cannon at random strangers, I don't care.
A million things to worry about, and people focus on some holiday celebration almost none of them have actually seen in action.
