Their salary requirements were anywhere from 75K to 90K (insanity on the high end).
Any idea where they got their salary ranges from? And do you know where they ended up getting jobs, and for how much?

My company was comfortable paying in the 60-65K range which I though was fair for a developer that has never put anything into a production environment that made money in their lives.
Seems reasonable enough. Did you offer any of the US grad applicants the job with that salary range? Or did you shitcan their resumes and go after the cheaper foreign labor right off the bat?

The whole visa program is a joke. It's a way for companies to exploit foreign labor, pay them less than is required to build a family, and keep them captive and compliant.

End all these fricking visas.

I used to love libertarian ideals and principles, but a bunch of dumb and unimpressive people like IB chinaman took an Econ 101 class and formed a world view.

It's fricking ruining this country. End this shite.

To use your analogy, and bear with me here because it is a shite analogy, those out-of-state players they no longer have access to were only more desirable because they were walk-ons that didn't impose tuition costs, room and board, and couldn't visit the athletic trainers.

LSU316 has already described how he gets around this.

"You can make a million dollars and never pay taxes." Just tell the IRS "I forgot".

Your post is dumb.

You don't bring in Foreign workers when you have 15 million workers in your country who are already out of work.

Are you suggesting that payroll taxes, benefits, SSI, and other expenses are not paid for H1-B workers.

I think you are thinking of contractors.

ETA you are right on offshore contractors though...it is a terrible system for America that is being used more and more and more.

What about when the 15 million are getting paid more by the Federal Government to sit on their arse and watch Netflix than they get going to work?

Wait!

I thought you said they were never salary-competitive for full-stack jobs.
Now you say they "are getting paid more by the Federal Government to sit on their arse"???

REALLY?

Now talk specifics. US interviewees turning down IT positions post-March-2020. Take your time.

Because at a point in time where nitwits like you espouse even dealing with foreigners willing to work (and spy for the CCP) for cheap, there is not a hell of a lot of empathy out there. At a point in time where you espouse even dealing with pro-communist hires regardless of US espionage threat, there is not a hell of a lot of empathy out there.

Plus the little detail of Capitalistic supply-demand theory in the face of 20% unemployment insinuates US citizens would gladly take those jobs at offered rates.

Actually, it's quite the contrary. Free markets aren't necessarily "globalist". They can be global in scope, but it could just as easily be totally local.

A free trade agreement needs no documentation. Any time our gov't or a foreign gov't get together and negotiate a "trade deal" someone is getting fricked.

As a producer of a good or service, I ought to be able to buy the best components to produce said product or service. Any retardation of that through tariffs or restrictions on labor creates an inferior product by definition and penalizes the consumer. It's basic economics.

This thread is about people, not buying the cheapest steel.

The market is free in the US. There are no restrictions on hiring from state to state, nor or there federal tariffs from state to state.

If people want to immigrate to the US, I’m not opposed to it. Bring them in based on the total package they offer, skills, financial well-being, well versed in US history and customs, fluent English, etc...

That also isn’t what this thread is about though.
