The GOP voters have 31 reps that can stop impeachment. ..only 17 is needed to end it

Since Van Drew and Peterson are likely to still oppose impeachment when the final vote comes to the floor, and former Republican Rep. Justin Amash (I-MI)–who left the GOP to become an independent over impeachment–is likely to vote for impeachment, Democrats only afford to lose 17 more Democrats and still be able to pass the articles of impeachment. With four vacancies, legislation can pass the House–with all members present and voting–with 216 votes. That means if 17 of the remaining 29 Trump district Democrats join Van Drew and Peterson–or other vulnerable Democrats from Clinton-won districts like Schrader join enough of the Trump-won district Democrats to total 17 more defections–then Democrats could fail on impeachment on the floor of the House.

They wouldn't bring it to vote without the numbers. Heck, I doubt they pushed the inquiry without the votes in place.

They'll never bring it for a vote they'd lose.
If they think they have the votes, they'll bring it.
If they know they don't, they'll find some excuse never to hold it.

It’s going to fail. There is no way Dems hand control of the process and the narrative over to senate republicans going into an election year.

I agree, but holy shite wouldn't it be hilarious if the vote failed!

You don’t know the lack of spine on the Republican side, they’ll never fight...Their voters only keep them there because there are no reasonable options. The Republican Party will sell this country down the road playing nice. It’s why Trump is President

Trust me, the votes will be there to impeach. I mean I wouldn't be surprised to see a net 10 votes turn away from impeachment, but Pelosi would not proceed with articles of impeachment if she wasn't confident it would succeed.

Exactly. And NOW, they’ve lost the opportunity to Censure....as that would be seen as weak and “not strong enough for the case against him.”
DNC about to hold campaign money over the heads of 29 democrats, who are now being “extorted” for quid pro quo on how to vote for something. Can’t make this shite up

Pelosi will do anything she can to appease the Justice Democrats. She is in serious threat of being primary'd, along with Schiff, Nadler, and...well....all the democrats pushing this farce.
They control the party now, not her and her ilk.
And I'm loving every minute of it.

Nancy Pelosi is old, and you may not align properly with her politics, but...she's not stupid.

I don't think Pelosi would mind embarrassing Schiff.
He's in a super safe district and she could let her "moderates" earn some political equity in their red districts.
She has to know that impeachment is DOA in the Senate and maintaining control of the House is critical in 2020 for them.

Don't count on it. This is why we are seeing abuse of office and obstruction in place of bribery/extortion. It was the compromise they agreed to in order to vote for impeachment.
The Dems felt they could sell that to their constituents and not look so corrupt doing it. That's why Nancy was so pissed this morning. It was the only way they'd get the vote.

31 are in trump country. 2 have already flipped.
We need 17 more to flip and it fails the house vote.
We need the peopl in these areas to pick up the phone and get vocal

GOP voters did not elect those 31 individuals. Independent voters did so.
Suggesting that the views of partisan Republican voters will sway these Reps? That is just stupid beyond words.
On the other hand, Independents do seem to be skeptical of the proceedings, and THEY could probably have an effect. The problem is that most Independents are not political activists and probably would be unable to even find a phone number for their Rep.

Oh look. Our local Stalinist ball licker.
You know when this guy is out trying to convince people to not call.... they are in trouble.
Ignore the socialist bs and get the word out.
