As someone who lived in Florida during the covid/2020 insanity, I'll say this. If DeSantis is undercover, he's the best actor in the history of the planet. By June 2020, Florida was kind of back to business as usual. Florida's population and economy grew exponentially because of his policies. He went after Disney pretty publicly. He is incredibly well prepared during press conferences when these dumbass CNN type reporters try to hit him with gotcha questions.
ETA: Another good one that I forgot when I was originally writing this. The NCAA threatened to pull all events out of Florida over some tranny bullshite. DeSantis told them basically to kiss his arse and waited them out. They relented.
His anti-rioting bills were some of my favorite pieces of legislation I've ever seen, and they were effective. There was no BLM or Antifa bullshite in Florida because he passed laws that allowed local politicians to be personally held responsible for damage to your person or property during a riot. This was done to prevent anyone from doing what the mayor of Minneapolis did when he wouldn't allow armed police or National Guard in to protect the city from the rioters.
DeSantis is the one who took Abbott's idea to the next level and had illegals flown directly to Martha's Vineyard. No establishment Republican is going to openly taunt the left's Black Jesus like that. They're all scared of him.
If he turns, I'll be really surprised and really disappointed.
One other thing. There's a lot of time between now and then, but if a primary were held tomorrow, I'd probably vote DeSantis. But I would sprint to the poll to vote for either of them in the general. I would be happy with either one of them in the White House. I just think DeSantis gives us the best chance to get there.

I voted against Hillary the first time, FOR Trump the second time. I need to see something concrete from him this go round. All I have been reading about re his rally's is his same old same old rants about the stolen election. That was 2 fricking years ago. Move on ! Now all I am hearing is anti DeSantis rants. The "mean tweets" crap is just that, crap. But he has been almost all negativity the past 7-8-9 mths. The way DeSantis is / isn't treated in no reason to vote for a POTUS. Same with what Trump accomplished in his last term. Again, old news. Show us what he can do NOW to fix this country. We need to win now, because if we can't beat this old, senile puppet, the DNC will plow us under, possibly for good.

So if Trump is the nominee in 2024 and loses, does he automatically get to be the nominee in 2028? and then 2032?

One of these days you people are going to grasp the fact that the best thing that could happen for America is for Trump to have a massive coronary and drop dead. No one energizes the left-wing better than Trump. When the Democrats dump large amounts of money into his candidates in the primaries just so they can run against them and beat them, that should tell you something. Trump is the only Republican candidate that the Democrats can beat, and there are multiple Democrats that could beat him. He needs to do us all a favor and drop dead, because his fricking ego sure won't let him stay out of the race.

I also have concerns about Trump's age. He'll be 78 by the time the next election rolls around. He's not as young as he used to be and being the highest profile politician in the world has to take its toll on a person.
