The Gerrymander Debacle in Virginia Leaves the Democratic Party with a Dangerous Agenda

Jonathan Turley issues warning.
Democrats are going to pack the Supreme Court.

Democrats are going to pack the Supreme Court.
quote:
As Winston Churchill said, “Nothing in life is so exhilarating as to be shot at without result.”
Exhilarating and unforgettable: In a purple state where politicians often require crossover votes to prevail, the redistricting push was not just partisan but personal for voters.
National Democrats will soon “find out” whether Jeffries was right to prematurely celebrate a victory that seemed to secure his anticipated elevation to Speaker of the House.
The party is facing a potentially catastrophic reversal of fortune.
When Democrats declared a gerrymandering war, some of us warned that the party, with its already heavily gerrymandered blue states, had far more to lose than the GOP did.
It was particularly comical when Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey pledged to join the redistricting fray, even though her state is so badly gerrymandered that it’s elected zero Republicans to the House since the 1990s.
Virginia, a state long opposed to gerrymandering, has been considered the fairest state in the country, with a distribution of congressional seats that closely matches its partisan divide.
Once Spanberger sought to eradicate Republican representation, total war broke out — and now red states like Florida and Tennessee have moved forward with their own redistricting.
On top of the fact that GOP states have more room for partisan gerrymandering, the Virginia Supreme Court decision comes on the heels of the US Supreme Court’s ban on racial gerrymandering.
That means a dozen or more Democratic districts could now be deemed unconstitutional — and Louisiana and Mississippi are moving to redistrict in line with the Supreme Court’s decision.
The result could be a dramatic shift in districts favoring the GOP.
To make matters worse for the Democratic Party, a new census in 2030 will correct the mistakes that erroneously awarded them multiple districts after the 2020 census.
Those corrections, and the ongoing exodus from high-tax blue states to booming red ones, could translate into even more congressional gains for the GOP.
That prospect of a political apocalypse has Democratic strategists pushing for radical changes in Washington before it’s too late.
Top priority: packing the Supreme Court as soon as they retake power.
As Virginia has shown, an independent court can unravel the best-laid plans.
quote:
Democratic politicians, pundits and professors have been openly pushing for expanding the high court to 13 members with four new liberal additions, in order to rubber-stamp the radical changes needed to keep the party in power.
James Carville recently told Democratic politicians that they have no choice but to pack the court, declaring “F–k it . . . Just do it.”
He suggested, however, that they might not want to tell the voters.
“Don’t run on it. Don’t talk about it,” he said. “Just do it.”
Last week, Jeffries declared the Supreme Court “illegitimate” as he blasted its ban on racial gerrymandering.
After the Virginia court’s ruling, the frustrated Democratic establishment is ever more likely to echo him — and to go beyond.
Many Democrats are now “all in” with this radical agenda.
With the courts declaring their redistricting efforts unconstitutional, it is the constitutional system itself that will now have to go.

"Whatever it takes. By any means necessary."

Defeat them in elections to the point they want to secede. Then let them leave. History has shown democracies do not age well and tend to gravitate towards socialism.
We need a purge of 150M progressive US citizens who can start their own utopia together.

Our country would be close to utopia with no Dems in office.

You want to pack the Supreme Court? Yes or no?

One of the top reasons I'll never vote for the Democratic Party again. Their allegiance is with their Party and not the Country.

Honestly, it's just another partisan hack branch of government. No precedent matters and laws will be deemed "unconstitutional" based on if Republicans or Democrats control the court.
So I've started to care less about packing the court. It's already fully political and Republicans denied seating one member so they could stack the house, this wouldn't be much different.

Carville said it a few weeks ago. Packing the Supreme Court and making DC and Puerto Rico states will be high priorities for the next Democrat president. You can bet they're gonna open the border back up and flood Republican districts with illegals too.

Their only hope to hold on to power and the wealth that follows is flooding the Country with morons that want free shite.
That's their platform.
That's their platform.

Is that a yes? And are you a white male democrat?

no
you have a real knack for making up things, i'll give you that
Posted on 5/9/26 at 11:49 am to beaux duke
So, you would be against the Democrats wanting to expand the Court?

Not exactly. The divide is between those who believe in Constitutional restraint and those who are comfortable reinterpreting the Constitution based on how they feel about it.
Its not just two sides following the same recipe, but subtle differences in understandings create different cakes from that recipe.
In today’s America, one side says, “Screw the recipe, I don’t even like cake! Cake was invented by racist dead white men who oppressed us with their extreme patriarchy!”
And then claims that the other side isn’t following the recipe.

If the democrats pack the supreme court, that would be the last vestige of our republic down the drain.
At that point we might as well just fracture into smaller countries.

So true. But, frankly, this mindset is what has kept their party strong, for better or worse.
When you are for the country, not a particular party, there are many different ways to help a country, hence why true conservative politicians have a difficult time bonding together.
It's obvious that the DNC provides the plan for everyone to follow.
Do we not recall very early in the Covid Plandemic when Trump was talking about a vaccine, that all Democrats together stated "we aren't taking any Trump vaccine". Then , lo and behold, Biden is in office and the vaccine became a huge DNC talking point.

One did it along racial lines, which is illegal, and the other didn't.
Keep up baw!

They have been saying that for years. They do not have the votes now and will not in the foreseeable future. It is just bloviating.

Democrats are going to pack the Supreme Court
1) If Democrats are successful, I guess the day will soon come when there won't be a definitive answer to the question of who's the dumbest Justice on the Supreme Court. We'll have 5 KJB-types to choose from.
2) I never talk this way, but if Dems do pack the Court then it's truly time for a revolution in this country. Packing the court with "homers" like KBJ is just as bad as stealing elections, if not worse.
3) Democrats have become the party of straight-up thugs. If they can't get their way in the correct manner, then they will cheat, lie, steal, or do whatever it takes to manipulate things into being exactly what they want.
Meanwhile, the bought-and-paid-for POS John Thune still won't pass the Save Act.
I keep trying to tell some of the blind fools here that America's #1 enemy is our corrupt political system, but they're either too dumb to see it or else they're on board with it.

Different happened a while back when the district was made by using racism in drawing up the rules for making the district
