It can ONLY be a redistribution scheme because there is only one scenario where it wouldn't be.

The ONLY scenario where the enviro mumbo jumbo works is if the developed world SUBSTANTIALLY reduces it's carbon footprint while simultaneously preventing the rest of the world from increasing theirs.

But there isn't a lefty alive who supports that idea.

Yeah If we do anything it should be unilateral and not part of some redistribution scheme

I'm going to see the future for you.

Assuming the world is really warming and assuming the feared sea level rises and other things happen........

While the rest of our dumb asses are gutting our economies putting our fingers in the broken dam in a futile attempt to stop it, countries like China are going to take the attitude of developing tech to mitigate the situation and hell, take advantage of it.

And the dumb assed navel gazers are going to wonder WTF happened.

I don't think it's really to retard growth of the West more than it is simply about money and power. Every plan of action they propose is always accompanied with a huge tax which takes away individual power and ability of free movement.

Hell. We don't even have to upgrade a thing in terms of energy use in Africa to completely frick any and all enviro nut goals.

Currently, Africa trails the world average life expectancy by 12 years.

If the ONLY thing we solved for Africa was that, the efforts of the Macrons of the world wouldn't mean Jack shite.

Why is it that most environmentalists live in massive cities where being one with nature is limited to a community garden in a sea of concrete and steel?

Because when deception and/or bribes are involved it is theft E.g. "Donating" to elected officials or their campaigns in exchange for XYZ.

LOL...it seems pretty simple to me....

1. Justification to raise taxes...check
2. Justification to spend OPM....check
3. Justification to usurp the very basis of our energy supply & economy...check

I don't understand why you are confused...

Ice core samples show constant glaciation/warm cycles for millions of years. Climate will change humans or no humans. Are we having impact on climate? Probably. Does it matter in the long term? no! Fossil fuels will run out. Coal/gas/oil is finite. The cheap light stuff is about gone (or is) and now we are burning condensates, heavy oil, and lots of nat gas. Population does need to be reduced...probably to less then a billion..but mother nature will take care of that when the time comes. The planet is 4+ billion years old..humans live a micro fraction of a fraction of that..if we stopped having babies today..the planet would be devoid of humans in 100 years give or take. Humans only hope is large scale nuclear power and electrify everything.

So, for you to believe that, you have to accept the fact that those counties are complicit with exploiting their own resources as well.

I'd say bribing someome to hide or misrepresent data counts as deception.. but here are a few more examples..

If the US military has tech/developmental plans stolen by an American servicemember on behalf of a foreign government.. is the US complicit in that?

Your argument sucks.

In the US.. outdoor recreation is a $400B industry. I think that qualifies as a massive payoff

Well we haven't invented fricking cold fusion yet. If all of Africa woke up tomorrow living in even 80% of the standard of living of the U.S., every fricking American alive could junk their cars and not overcome it.
Let's be honest. Warmists don't want the money to help those nations. They want the money to boost their power.
