That's true. But there is something called 'accommodation.' If you put skim on your cereal every day it will at first seem watery. But if you return to whole milk after a month of skim, the milk will seem like heavy cream.

I could also add a little more water to a good beer each time I drank one, and eventually a Bud Light would be bursting with flavor and I could just buy cheap Bud Light.

But I have no reason to do that, with beer or with milk.

Yea. Why do we eat meat of other animals as humans? It has always been bizarre and seemlingly unnatural to me.

Yeah, same bullshite idea that I've seen applied to bake potatoes for butter and sour cream. Just keep using less and eventually a plain baked potato will taste just fine. Skim milk has to have additives to make it look white instead of the bluish tint it would otherwise have. Whole milk is only 3.5% milkfat, if that is enough to matter in your diet then you are seriously a lazy frick.

Is there any evidence that it's even bad for you? Fat in moderation is part of a healthy diet.

ETA natural fats, credit to below post for reminding me

Natural fats are good for you.

Whole milk is better for you than skim milk.

Skim milk is a bad idea.

I've read a lot of stuff on nutrition over the last 60 years and most of the articles on milk being unhealthy were long before the internet was invented.

It was junk science.

They didn’t know what they were talking about.

How many millennia ago did mankind start using animal milk and start making cheese? Almost 10. The argument the idiots are making is about environmentalism and moral grandstanding, evidence be damned.

Also, almonds ain't got no titties.

Scientific American - why we got milk

quote:

During the most recent ice age, milk was essentially a toxin to adults because — unlike children — they could not produce the lactase enzyme required to break down lactose, the main sugar in milk. But as farming started to replace hunting and gathering in the Middle East around 11,000 years ago, cattle herders learned how to reduce lactose in dairy products to tolerable levels by fermenting milk to make cheese or yogurt. Several thousand years later, a genetic mutation spread through Europe that gave people the ability to produce lactase — and drink milk — throughout their lives. That adaptation opened up a rich new source of nutrition that could have sustained communities when harvests failed.

quote:

Young children almost universally produce lactase and can digest the lactose in their mother's milk. But as they mature, most switch off the lactase gene. Only 35% of the human population can digest lactose beyond the age of about seven or eight.

Apparently we feel satiated sooner, when we consume diets higher in natural fats. It’s part of how we’re wired.

People who eat low fat diets short circuit this mechanism and consume more calories.

That’s the perfect example.

We’re they right about anything?

Diet isn’t complicated. Ignore moderns fads and eat what your grandparents or great grandparents ate.

That brings back memories. The skim milk at my high school was blue.

I assume they bought the absolute cheapest milk on the market.

Almond milk is an environment nightmare in Calf. Almond trees soak up a large amount of water.

Pasteurized, homogenized American mass produced milk isn't good for you. I drink heavy cream, eat butter, and such. So yeah screw the soyboys.

The "plant-based" climate shite is nonsense.

There's nothing wrong with soy, almond milk, cashew milk or oatmilk. Some of these formulas are in fact, quite tasty.

Soy milk, edamame beans, tofu and other non-fermented soy products are clean, healthy foods that are the perfect antidote to toxic masculinity.

eat margarine

Margarine is possibly the most toxic synthetic food product commonly eaten by humans. Milk solids, artificial coloring, salt and trans fats can harden arteries about 50 years ahead of schedule.
