Basically even in more rural states, urban and rural voting patterns vary wildly
Choosing urban and rural states is a simple method of picking a villain
Precisely. Look how quick Ebbandflow was to assume I had to live in rural Texas to be a conservative. It's silly. Basically another shade of leftist's constant identity politics.

Are living where they are because they like being Rural. I live in Rural Georgia and trust me, most people I interface with aren't in farming.
I love the arts. And, on the popular entertainment front, I wish that I lived somewhere that was a more common stop along the way for tours.
If all things were equal, I'd choose more urban in a heartbeat. Especially if it had a high walk score.
But, the trade off is immense. Frankly, letting your child go to most urban public schools is a form of child abuse.
Crime is far worse than where I am.
And, while I'd pay more for a better walk score and more arts, I'm not willing to pay exorbitantly more and frankly, if you CAN find a decent urban area to live that doesn't have as many social pathologies, you basically have to sell your left leg and right nut to do it.

Goes to show that people who claim to be highly educated are as biased, ignorant and simpleminded as those they disparage.

Well, not everyone is chasing after the dollar and think bigger, more, and newer are better. I'm one of those and know many more, and their personal peace and natural surroundings are more important than wealth.
I think it's terribly problematic to think the wealthiest areas are the best areas. They certainly are not for everyone.
As urbanization has grown. So have a myriad of disorders that go with the lifestyle.
I can respect that. Some people just prefer that lifestyle. It's not for me, but I'm not knocking it.

Growing up in a rural community, I can understand how anybody would want to live anywhere else. Very few choices of companies and some of them use it to their advantage. Also not everyone likes to hunt and fish (I love fishing though).
But that's not a reason to not hold conservative values.

I remember when city folks vacationed in the country, and country folks vacationed in the city because they wanted to experience, even briefly, another lifestyle
Sadly, we've demonized each other so much that the disdain makes us repulsed by "those people" and the charm is gone
Political parties, media, Hollywood and Madison Avenue are masterful at simple propaganda and the overwhelming percentage of the population falls for it. There is no doubt that society, from top to bottom, has been dramatically dumbed down regardless of educational attainment.

You're being dishonest. Do a simple google search

It has nothing to do with urban/rural

My point is that I only see it on here, meaning that it’s not just “lefties” bringing it up. I’m not arguing that there aren’t articles about it

I realized that we're in here talking about Rural vs Urban but haven't fully defined it.
I mean, I certainly don't live in a "Rural" area because my general area has a total metro population of about 450K. But that's pretty spread out and as such, sure as hell ain't urban either. In fact, many of that 450K would still be considered pretty rural even though I'm not quite as in the sticks.
And, the job situation here is fricking FANTASTIC.

I kinda got to experience both rural and city life growing up. I prefer living closer to more conveniences (and don't mind traffic and a large community). I don't hate the country, just like a faster pace/more options.

My guess is that you live in an area that is heavily subsidized in some way. Like, lots of defense contracts or government offices. Maybe NASA stuff. Military, etc.

I've rarely seen posts referring to anything rural here
Most posters on this forum are urban btw

Yep.
But. I could list some pretty solid less urban areas that I would also happily choose.
Not all are as you describe.
And hell. I don't see anyone on the left deriding Washington DC urbanites for the same thing!!!
