Think of how far society has fallen in just one generation.
People used to be ashamed of being disabled. Now being disabled is a badge of virtue people actively seek to apply to themselves.

It’s interesting you choose to define government fraud by pointing to veterans at the VA. It says a lot about who you are and what you stand for. You know who defrauds the government, and by government I mean tax payers? Illegal children separated from their parents. Illegal immigration is the leading cause of fraudulent claims.

LOL last time I was at the VA I was in the waiting room next to some guy who claimed to have killed 110 high ranking Taliban scum IN IRAQ in 2010.

Yeah, fraud is fraud and there is definitely plenty associated with VA disability BUT it is no easy task to get a 100% VA disability rating unless you are missing some limbs and even then, you are probably going to have to involve your congress man/woman...
Based on the numbers it must be infinitely easier to get the regular gubment disability...

I dunno...most of the dudes I've seen in the VA, even the ones full of shite, probably need to be there and are broke as hell. I'd venture to guess the ones defrauding the VA system are the ones with 100% "disability" yet never go to the VA because they don't need to.
I mean you could get 50% just for sleep apnea FFS.

Probably about right, the military is no different than civilian life in that regard. There are fraudsters, just sitting at home collecting a check that they don't deserve.

Another good one, I have an acquaintance, he is an older gentleman who was in the Navy during Vietnam. He's truly fricking nuts. He's told several stories about how every one in his unit being killed except him on at least 4 separate occasions while in Vietnam.
Now, the old codger is the real deal , retired as a Master Chief , served 4 tours in Vietnam, but he's nuts. I actually pulled his jacket once out of curiosity. He was a blue water sailor and never stepped foot in Vietnam nor had any recorded encounter with the Viet Cong.

I only know one sniper. My neighbor 6 doors down who was in Vietnam. I asked him how many people he shot.
Him: '7'
Me: 'How did you feel?'
Him: 'Paranoid.'
