each of the people killed was individually signifcant. That doesn't mean the total number of them is significant in comparison to the total number involved.
If your Army officers are worth their salt they are not concerned with their individual significance as it relates to the overall military agenda.
You can be insulted but if they are worth their salt you aren't insulted "on their behalf" you're insulted because you've decided your importance is significant.

Well most if not all of those same people apply that same approach to essentially everything Trump does and says in the capacity of President. Thus I’d submit that their credibility and judgment should be questioned and ultimately dismissed in every instance. It’s not that they are prone to lapses in judgment, but rather they don’t concern themselves with “judgment” in the way you mentioned, because it’s not necessary when they’ve already got all of their conclusions on Trump predetermined, before the situation even occurs. And those conclusions, once again, are pretty much “epic failure” across the board.

Not to appear callous, but I hate when people wrap themselves in the sacrifices of the dead to score points. Being a soldier was their job and that job comes with inherent risks that THEY choose to accept so that the rest of us don’t have to. They are war fighters who break things, and who stand in the breach. They are not fragile little objects to be put on a shelf and admired from a distance. They died doing their duty. Stop distilling their service and sacrifice down to a number on a score card.
