The agreement – which would raise the debt ceiling for two years, freeze spending on domestic programs, increase spending on defense and veterans issues, impose some new work requirements on federal food assistance programs and change some rules around energy permitting – was meant to include provisions that could sway members of both parties to vote for it.

Unfortunately, CNN is the only place from a search that I could any amount of details.

You and I both knew this would be the outcome.

It’s what they all want. Just like all these hearings and grandstanding. Nothing meaningful ever happens. They are all on the same team.

Wish that included defending our border. Never any doubt in my mind that the Repubs would cave. They had all the leverage, but snatched defeat from the jaws of victory...again.

This in every way seems to be a reasonable and principled deal, yet the crazies among House Republicans are threatening to scuttle it before the ink dries.

Our nation is truly disfunctional-- thanks Trump.

That’s what I would ask Kevin. Did the president promise to use these resources to protect the border? If not why did you agree?

The Dems were never going to give up that funding. It’s 3/4 of their platform.

Our spending is outta control. At some point in time we will have to cut spending to gain any headway. Government has become a giant behemoth sucking the wealth away from its working class.

This was a negotiation. You don’t get everything you want. We need to get control of the senate and White House in 2024 to do more. Changing the shitshow is an incremental process. This is a step in the process. Be patient.

Freezing spending is a big step. Work requirements are a big step. When we get back in charge and start pumping and drilling and border control exists then the economy will grow and deficits shrink. That is when we will see the effects of this deal.

Both sides are unhappy. I am glad the socialists are mad. It means we accomplished something.

nothing will change until the interest on the debt destroys it all or they achieve the great reset first

when you refer to it as govt, you are making it faceless and neutral.
