I would agree, but this "middle ground" is just a shade off of what the Left wants. To even have to compromise on beds, shows just how weak the Republicans are and how emboldened the Democrats feel.

Any fear on the Dems side about not securing border or allowing illegals to roam free because of a lack of Ice beds? Just wondering where the pressure points are on the Dems side?

I'm suprised. Not that you upvoted yourself, rather you had two other idiots agree with you!

I own no, maybe ask them

If the number of illegals exceeds 50k then buy more beds. It’s ridiculous to think basically if it gets full then BP can’t do their job

Thats the point Delta. Its the ole DC adage, "I dont have to kill the bill.....just the funding".

Sessions moved what judges he could to he border to reduce the "catch and release" when the 20 day limit hit. He had group court hearings where he had dozens lined up, at one time, for asylum claims. Then liberals filed suit and said "each" person deserved their day in court.

The next backstop for liberals is to limit the beds, in doing so, they wont even reach the 20 day limit before they reach the bed limit, thereby ensuring "catch and release" continues.

This is why a wall is so important. If we stop them at point of entry, they can stay on the mexican side of the border, until they are processed. But if they cross where there is no wall, they are now on US soil and can claim asylum and the clock starts ticking on 20 days, or bed limits.

Border patrol needs 230 additional miles, not 55.
They wouldn't build much more than 55mi in a year anyway, would they? Make another request next year. In the meantime, take this. Use wall construction repeatedly as a photo-op.

Fair?

No.

Workable for Trump nonetheless?

Yes.

How about we do both?

The rabid argument AGAINST the Wall from the Open Borders crowd is absolute proof THEY believe it works.

I actually agree with this and here's why.

Get the wall piece by piece over time. A billion here, 2 billion later, another billion later...

The dems don't give Trump his "big win", but we end up getting the wall.

55 miles of steel slats do not equal a big beautiful wall. If this is the route he.goes, a dem will be elected in 2020.

Three of the most meaningless words in politics.

Probably more meaningless than "for the children."

we don't have the power to change Guatemala or Ecuador or Chiapas so people stay and have a future.

A few weeks ago it looked as if we allocated billions for southern Mexico and central America investment in.business.
What happened to that idea?

Here's why I disagree: Trump isn't guaranteed a 2nd term
