The deal coming out of congress seems very fair. Downvote away

Trump at SOTU:
The Border Patrol, since the Obama Administration, has been asking for $1.8 billion for upgrades and extension of the existing border barriers. This deal will allocate $1.375 billion of that request. That will get them 55 miles of border barriers, or just five miles short of what President Trump last requested.
Fox now reporting it will not be fencing, but steel slats.
Take the deal, T. It gives you the slats you bragged about on twitter , and it about gives what the border patrol wants.

Take the deal, start construction, wait till the next time a child or cop is killed by an illegal (will happen) and then declare a state of emergency and secure the remaining funds.

the President said he would compromise and allow the border patrol to set the parameters on new barriers and this comes close to their pre-existing request.

Just read that the deal has 1.375 Bill for Wall and a new 1.7 Bill for new technology’s.
I can be ok with that. That’s 3 Bill total in country defense.

Do nothing with the deal. No veto, no signing. Let it sit and rot in his desk drawer.
That will force the Dems to get off their asses and act in some meaningful way when he doesn't give them anything on it. They can't point and say he caved, they can't point and say we out negotiated him, they can't point and anything except spit and stutter.

55 miles seems well short of what was initially asked for. Why is that a win? BP deemed the 55 mikes as imminent to curb the crossers.
The only W is that DACA wasn’t even touched so there are no protections for them. We won on that MAGA
I may in the minority here, but what the heck is a steel slat going to stop exactly? Portable welding torches will inevitably be used and it will be like no border fence exists. Then we’re back to square 1.
