The dam is about to break on the stay at home orders

Regardless of what the big government establishment wants, ultimately the people decide and we are ready to get back to work. This is what's supposed to happen in a free society. We have weighed the risks and know the precautions and will act accordingly. You can't regulate all of society and you will always have stupid people doing stupid things.

You have an extremely high view of the populace.

You left off the last of my post:

Correct. Remember that there are people out there in a majority in many constituencies who vote to elect people like Richard Blumenthal, Maxine Waters, Alexandria Cortez, Bill DeBlasio, Schiff, etc, etc, etc. I’m not real confident about the critical thinking skills of most people.

This probably sounded a lot better in your head. - As a revolutionary leader for the US citizens and all.
I can’t wait for your speech at the capital today where you announce your revolution.

Extraordinarily accurate meme. Stealing it.

I'd love to see everyone say frick it and return to their normal lives. That way, we'll see which Governors/Mayors back down and which ones are dumb enough to actually try and enforce their decrees (and how far they will go to do it).

based on the amount of traffic I see outside. I live near a major highway. I would say people aren’t really obeying the stay at home order anyway.

One of my mantra's at work is this: There is no such thing as "Idiot Proof"... Because "Idiots" are the most creative thinkers in the universe.. and its not even close!

I have commented on this in several other threads... I have noticed a significant increase in traffic in my area in the last two weeks.
Frankly, I think there is a possibility this whole stay at home stuff is going to unravel on its own anyway.. We are as a country/culture not wired for this.

Exactly...believe it was General Honore in New Orleans after Katrina who said "You can't fix stupid".

Im not even going to buy into the narrative that people going back to do things they normally do in whatever manner they normally did them, should be deemed “stupid.”

I think you are correct.
Personally, I have two business meetings in person scheduled today and tomorrow. I have another that is likely to happen.
Also, we have a "small" birthday party for a child that we're planning on attending that will include family and neighborhood friends. To me, this is even more significant.
This is going to reflect poorly on JBE. He's painted himself into a corner where his guidance and directive is going to be viewed as a joke.
The irony is that he actually had set himself up to win on this issue. He was getting attaboys from the Republican president during national briefings. He was in front of LA residents daily. If he simply would have put LA out front in the reopening of the state, even people like myself would have had to acknowledge the job he has done.
Instead, he published skewed data to support a decision that has no specific strategy. He had his top medical guy pointing to a region doing "poorly" when 9 of the 12 parishes in the region had 0 new cases, and the total region had 19.

Peculiar. I didn't call for a revolution. I simply expect our leaders to listen to the people and make responsible decisions where the cure isn't worse than the disease. You are seeing a lot of our leaders start to realize this and act more rationally.
How long would you like Americans to stay locked in their homes and our economy to be shuttered?

A lot of people are doing what they please and I don't blame them.
Who is being hurt are the certain businesses that are being discriminated against.
The "essential" stuff is a crock of shite.

Local bait store is open. As long as I can boil crawfish and buy some live bait we good! I have not really seen anyone stay at home.

I very much want to believe this, but I have my doubts. This is now the second "extension" of JBE's stay at home order. 6 weeks ago, nobody would have believed the majority would tolerate being forced to stay home for a month and a half. Yet, here we are. Incrementalism at its finest. I have the will to resist, but how many others do?
