I'm trying but I can't hear it...

The only “crash” I see here appears to be hedge funds selling off other stocks to cover their shorts in GameStop and other stocks.
IOW, the Dow reflects what a “bucket” of hand picked stocks are doing but not necessarily what is going on from a total trading perspective.

Inflation, plus "investment bankers" telling people that Twitter is worth 1,000 times revenue, despite the fact that they didn't make a profit until 2018.
They're busy now correcting that mistake.

People betting on stock market downturns based off politics don't know much about the stock market.

Thanks to over valued tech stocks and resources like Robinhood, the stock market is no longer tethered to reality.

Can you explain this the same as you would to an 8 year old?

It never was..manipulated as shot for the benefit of a few players..now they are exposing more of their tools for doing so.:

If your referring to GME a sub reddit is bringing down Wall Street hedge funds who were illegally shorting stock to the tune of more shares the company even has. Let them bleed.

Just talked to my friend whose son is at Robinhood and he got out of GME this am. Also, said his son was on call from big wig at Morgan because they called all the puts. End of conversation was that they wanted to get paid so something like $600 mil was paid by Morgan.
I said good. Screw them.

Investors hold a basket of stocks.
One particular stock, GameStop, is “shorted”, meaning they bet it will go down.
Other investors buy GameStop and make the price go up.
Those first investors need money to cover their bets on GameStop and are doing it by selling off their other stocks to raise money.
Result - GameStop surges in price but a bunch of unrelated stocks go down because people are selling them off to pay for bad bets on GameStop.

So I'm confused here. Is there a way I can invest in $30 today and tomorrow have a few thousand? Asking for a friend.
