quote:
The one prediction that always holds true is that man is always crying these are the end times as things change
2 Peter 3:
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 ¶ But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 ¶ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat

Push? It’s not a push. But going cashless is a very money savvy option for everyone with the financial discipline to do it. Your paper cash depreciates in your wallet. My money gains interest in my accounts. When I use plastic, my no annual fee credit cards pay me interest.
Yeah.
Not a push at all.

In the context of this thread, world means the physical earth and space that will one day be burned up and replaced with a new heaven and new earth.

My parents told me about how folks headed to the hills during world war two for the end of the earth.
In the 70's,when I was growing up,it was the end of the earth.
Yet here we are,the end of the earth again.
We'll be fine again,like always.

Yes, the false prophets are those who claim to have knowledge that the Bible does not endorse, and they have been around since the time Jesus walked the Earth among men. This is clearly stated in the Scriptures.
The Bible also clearly states that no man can know the day nor the hour when Christ will return, not even Him.
He awaits the command, and anyone who says they can tell you when this time is, is a false prophet.
Do not be deceived, but always be prepared, and don't let men and their lies discourage you from seeking the truth.

The “mark of the beast” is metaphorical in the sense it will be ideological more than anything- think how you have to “admit” black lives matter or you get fired and your life ruined etc.
You’ll likely have to make some spiritual concession in order to be allowed into society and be ostracized if you refuse.

Were do you think his word is contained if not in the Bible?
His word is in the bible. Never said it wasn't. Lots of books were written. And some made it into the bible and some did not. Men decided which to include and which to exclude. Look what has happened to the Catholic church, the current "pope" is a Satanist. It is not out of the realm of possibility that revelations is not the work of God but instead the work of the devil. Pretty much everything man touches is tainted and men chose the books to include or exclude.

OP'er I am a believer and not to knock what you are trying to say but this has been said multiple times over the last 5 decades.
Truth is no one knows the day or the hour only the good Lord.
With that being said, there are plenty of holes in what the bible says and how man has interpreted the bible. For instance how did Adam and eve populate the earth? Also along that lines, after the great flood how did Noah and his sons and wives re-populate the earth? Also what happened before known civilizations arrived 15,000 years or so ago? If you trace back a timeline in the bible it only goes back about this far. But humans have been here a few hundred thousand years.
With that being said I believe there is a higher power (God) and I believe God has created everything but I believe man has interpreted his own way. Much of Christian belief is very flawed in its interpretation. Just my opinion.

I understand this. But again, can’t an all powerful God steer men as to which books to include or exclude?

If the Bible is an untrustworthy source for God’s word to man, how would anyone be able to have confidence in the verses speaking about salvation?
And if those passages are untrustworthy, what do you base your salvation on?

Some people have this same,” we will be fine” attitude about America. They think, we can ignore our constitution, have open borders, elect Marxists to office, tear down all our historical reminders and we will still be fine.
They believe that right up until it’s not fine or their entire nations civilization cease to exists.

1. The “mark of the beast” would be something people know that they are worshiping the antichrist. It won’t be hidden in a vaccine.
Could it be the masks? Perhaps not in this run (this is an exercise), but in a greater pandemic? Think about it. Must have the mark to buy and sell......what are the major retailers REQUIRING to enter their stores and transact business right now?
And I wear one now in those places. That’s a little freaky.....

No. The Bible says plainly it will be a mark, given either on the right hand or the forehead, and it will be the number of a man, the number 666

I hope this kinda shite morphs with that whole qanon larp thing going on. it'll be amazing. maybe the anti-christ emerges out of the storm.

Only in 2020 is the title of this thread not that outlandish.

I don’t agree, but 2020 has been a bizarre year and we still have an election to go through!

I mean at this point i've been through so many apocalypses it's just kinda silly.

Sure, but I don’t see it being that obvious. People aren’t going to knowingly tat their forehead or hand with 666. I mean, people are literally positing that it’s the vaccine itself. The masks make more sense.

By definition, with stores and businesses not serving people without a mask, couldn’t the mask be the mark? Not serious BTW
The mark will be a brand that you're COVID free, and includes your bank account. You will be expected to shuttle about, showing your pulse area of your right arm, to commerce and survive.
Before that, I want rapture, three days and nights of darkness and chaos, whereupon you keep your doors and windows sealed (sealed with the cross of Christ and holy water), and have discourse with no one. No matter how enticing.
