What? People are absolutely better off today than they were in 2020. Do you not remember that year? Worst year of our lives, easily.

OP sounds like a child--"people don't agree with me, they're the problem."

I guess reality is setting in finally for some as they realized DEMs outnumbers Republicans in the US.

Trump may yet still win, but if the GOP nominated literally anyone else they would likely be rolling to an election win.

The GOP needs to nominate better candidates. The same guy 3 cycles in a row is a mistake even if that guy is the greatest patriot and fighter since at least Abraham Lincoln.

I don’t agree with the post Obama GOP fatalism that they are a minority party and can’t win high turnout elections.

What about right before Covid? How were we doing then?

What policy positions of Harris/Walz resonate with you the most?

Since 1989, the GOP has won the popular vote once (and it took a war-time, incumbent President to do this).

That's 8 cycles. 12.5% over that 32-year period.

I don't know that they even have policies other than give everyone everything they want all of the time.

Depends on what you mean by "the people" in a country where diversity is "our greatest strength".

I like how they respect the Constitution and don't try to overturn legitimate elections (ones that everyone who is sane or not a grifter agree are legitimate).

Nothing else really matters in the grand scheme of things--if you try to fvck with the Constitution and the peaceful transfer of power, I'm not voting for you.

I'll bow out of this board, it's too batshit to actively participate in but it's great entertainment.

Surprisingly enough, I’ve gotten the most engagement out of BamaAtl. A lot of it was bullshite, but she’s the only one who has engaged.

This is why I say Trump needs to an advertising blitz in the lower 48. Not just the swing states. Too many people, mostly women but not all, have the heads in their asses.

Wife works with a couple of women like this. Up til that point we thought they were pretty decent Karens.

Exactly. It's not a majority of conservative women, it's like 15-20%.

But 1 in 5 or 1-7 women that normally vote GOP that say "You know, it's time for a woman to be in charge." is a big issue in a tight election.

Telling them they are idiots for thinking like that isn't going to help. I'm genuinely concerned.

What tempers this a bit, insofar as we're discussing the possibility that the GOP can never regain majority support, is that the Republicans have gotten more Congressional votes than Democrats numerous times in that same time period.

ETA: For instance, the GOP recieved 3 million more House votes in 2022 than the Democrats did. The GOP also got more House votes in 2016, 2014, 2010, and every election from 1998-2004

No, azzholes are the problem. People so ate up with politics in totality are the problem. When all your choices in life start becoming based on politics, that's a problem and your diversions start getting political then, people are the problem.

Oh. I'm not going to listen to a particular artist or band because some of their lyrics are of a political stripe I don't like....but I used to like the music.

Not going to watch football or basketball anymore because my favorite QB took a stance.....that was not conservatve/liberal for me

Gee my neighbor seems to be a good guy, watches out for my house when I'm gone and is pretty pleasant. But dammit!!! He's a Democrat / Republican....so I'm not talking to him anymore.

My cousin is liberal. I'm conservative. We disagree politically....I guess I'll write him/ her off.

I see this shite more and more and its ridiculous. You certainly can do what you want, but basing your relationships to people and things based on politics is....creepy

This^^^ is why I told y'all yesterday I've washed my hands.

If the Cultural Marxists complete their stated goal of the Fundamental Transformation of America it's not on my back, my conscience is clear, I just don't want to hear any bitching or whining from those who claim to be independents, libertarians, real conservatives/never Trumpers or evangelical Christians.

If Harris is installed as POTUS it will be on the backs of the aforementioned Americans.

There’s no data showing that a GOP candidate will ever “roll” to a win with the current electorate. When was the last big margin win for the Republicans? 2004? And that was the first time since 1988.

I've been plenty critical of Trump at times when warranted. But this is completely false. You fail to understand how Trump generates turnout for his side with low prop voters who would not come out for someone like Marco Rubio or Tim Scott. Just look at all the Senate races, they are all trailing Trump by 5-8 points right now. You are being blinded by your own biases. A "softer" Republican could possibly swing more indepents, of a certain persuasion, and could slow down the other sides enthusiasm... but this approach does not seem to work in the current political environment and with the election infrastructure the Democrats are employing.
