bullshite. You can damn sure tell him what the scriptures say and not judge. Let’s say you did do what he says.
1) u can change and make yourself
Better and repent and stop doing it.
2) at least your lustings and
Cravings were geared toward normal scientific hardwiring and nature.
Those clowns use that excuse because they don’t wana repent or change. Nor get help for their brain ?? defects and chemical
Imbalances and mental illnesses.

quote:
you've got no right to judge or condemn me."
That's not the discussion. Discussing what the Bible says isn't condemning anybody, and by that person's logic no Christian can discuss anything being right or wrong because none of us are perfect.
"Judge not...." is the most abused and misunderstood verse in the Bible.

quote:
Yes, they do. God is still a God of judgment of sin. That's what Jesus' purpose was: to be sent to die in judgment for the sin of mankind.
OT has a much higher kill count than NT

quote:Yes, because heterosexuality was the norm back then as it was for civilization going back to the beginning. It doesn’t mean that homosexuality didn’t exist (the Bible mentions it and condemns it), but it wasn’t as common. A sin only has to be condemned as a sin once. It doesn’t need equal time with other sins.
In the Bible, (heterosexual) sex outside of marriage and adultery are mentioned A LOT more than homosexuality.
quote:That “gay person” doesn’t seem to understand the concept of repentance and forgiveness. All sin and fall short of the glory of God. The difference between the true Christian and the non-Christian is that the Christian has sorrow for their sin and seeks to put that sin to death and move forward in obedience to God while the non-Christian doesn’t care if they offend God by their sin.
I heard a gay person say once "unless you were a virgin on your wedding night, you've got no right to judge or condemn me." I keep my mouth shut on the subject.
Christians are called to preach the gospel to sinners, and that means calling them to repent of their sins before God.

quote:The Old Testament was focused on physical signs of spiritual realities while the New Testament was focused on those spiritual realities fulfilled in Christ. Jesus’ kingdom is not of this world, so why would you expect everything in the new covenant to be exactly like it was in the old?

In terms of spiritual “body count”, it’s just as bad in the new as it was in the old. Everyone who dies in their sins without forgiveness in Jesus Christ will endure spiritual death for eternity.

You are a strange fellow.
This week you told a black man he wasn't authentic.
This week you told a gay man he wasn't authentic.
You lie pathologically.
You equate Drag Queens exposing themselves to children to Dog Shows.
STFU with calling people "strange", Aggie-X.....

Three outright lies in a single post. Impressive.
Perhaps more impressive still is the way you lie with absolutely no remorse. You know that you are lying. But you do it again and again and again. You may be a perfect sociopath.

Hank,
If you are sincere about understanding a Christian point of view regarding this issue, here is the clearest that I have seen. Mike Winger is very careful and thorough.

Let me know what you think.

I wanted to start with part 1 rather than 2, so i went there.
As best I can tell, there is no option to read. Is the video the only resource, or am i missing something?
EDIT
I am now more than 10 minutes into the first video, and he has yet to address any substantive issue. Is there more substance to this, or is it all filler?
25 minutes, and we are FINALLY starting a textual analysis.
55 minutes and we have an interesting pont. There are two different Hebrew words that are both translated to English as “abomination” in the translation he is using. I will look into this one.
63 minutes. He actually says that exploring the accuracy of translations is something for which people “do not have the time, energy or interest.” The original words do not matter, because people are too busy or too lazy to conduct that analysis. Wow.
72 minutes, and I survived episode 1. Literally one concept that I had not heard before. Are the remaining episodes a bit more groundbreaking? Or are they all as repetitious as this one?

I listed part 2 for good reason. It is the stronger video by far.
And yes, he does lay out the context from the standpoint of a Christian because he is a Christian apologist. However, there is a lot in his content - if you are willing to see it.
A huge consideration when reading the Bible is that it is a complicated work. If you bring a sneer to the Word, you will miss the content and feeling involved. You really have to clear your clutter and let the words lead you rather than leading them.
