I haven't found one completely denying it was happening, but if we hop in the Wayback Machine and go alllllll the way back to *checks notes* last month we find:

To go from "incredibly rare" to potentially 4 in 10 in just a month is a pretty big jump. I have to wonder what they would have found if they hadn't spent years downplaying just the possibility, but instead actually started investigating.
It's not a vast leap of logic to think that illegals aren't voting in large numbers in states where they have been long welcomed and protected by state and/or local officials.

The truth is that we simply don’t know how big the problem is. Blue states are not complying with federal oversight efforts. We are essentially relying on blue states to investigate and prosecute voter fraud - which most have no interest in doing.
But in reality, regardless of how big this might be, only a relatively small number of fraudulent votes in the right state can flip a seat. Do it a few states and you can flip a presidency. Let’s not pretend otherwise.

The tweet references a lawsuit filed by the Trump Admin. The AP didn’t make a claim or launch an investigation. It is reporting actions by the Trump Admin.

I know you like to pretend to not understand things, but if AP is writing an article saying that 4 in 10 names on California rolls voter flagged for possibly being non-citizens cannot be found on voter rolls, what would that mean for the other 6 of those 10?
Note the headline “over 40% of names in DOJ list of alleged noncitizens are not on California voter rolls”
What does that mean for the other 60%?
