Sounds like you are describing #resist or blm or any other leftist group.

To some degree, sure, but that wasn't the focus of this thread. I'll happily explain the toxicity and counterproductivity of both of those movements where it's appropriate to do so.

Well if we're talking about the impact of tools over human history, I can name plenty more conducive to the advancement of human civilization. But I love guns, I don't worship and elevate them to godlike-status, but I do love them.

Using the same crystal ball that told you HRC would be President? You are painfully stupid.

I notice you didn't name one. I don't think you could name a single tool that has done more for the advancement of human civilization either, but I'm talking about you, as an American, part owner of the lone superpower on earth. You owe everything to the firearm. We all do.

And to the Constitution, which codifies God-given rights to ordinary citizens, the most important of which being the Second Amendment, which protects and ensures all the rest, because the government cannot provide those rights, it can only observe, and try to protect them.

In any other country, or even in this country with some other form of government, you would have less, possibly none, of all of that. And none of it is possible without the gun.

We have every right to venerate guns. In the hands of people with principle, justice, courage, and vigilance, there has never been a tool like it in the history of mankind.

I'm honestly sad this needs to be done but how about the fricking wheel??

If you think free speech isn't as important as a well-armed militia, you have to check out of the conversation. What do you think people are defending?

I never said you don't have the right to venerate them, I said the level of veneration in America is cult-like and the NRA exemplifies that point in spades.

I don't think that's going to go very well for anti-2A protesters.

Supporting the constitution is a cult?

Today's left is completely insane.

Yeah, I definitely said that. What's insane is the amount of time you walking logical fallacies spend arguing against your own points. I support the 2nd Amendment, I'm just not a member of an organization that operates like a cult.

Some things should be obvious but you're too busy being offended to notice: The NRA's veneration of guns is indistinguishable from any cult's veneration of a person or object. Even its middlingly ardent members often display cult-like behavior and obsessions.

The NRA's spokeswoman, with her giant Ephesians 6:12-13 verse tattooed across her arm, speaks in apocalyptic, paranoid tones, and NRA members fricking love it. They revel in rhetoric painting every liberal as a monster out to destroy America and American Christian values (whatever the frick that means) and take everyone's guns. Cult-like behavior from people that are preparing for the 2nd coming of something that ain't coming.

I hope you're not a supporter of abortion rights because I could, almost word for word, substitute pro-choice words for pro-2A words in your screed and change not a word, and it would be spot on.

No. I owe everything to the people willing to fight for the freedom of themselves and others. A gun is just a tool, a means to an end, it doesn't fight our battles for us.

Even more than that, the mass production of many goods, including food, oil, real estate, furniture, and on and on is in no small part due to the firearm.

Go for it--you aren't going to offend me or hurt my feelings--but at the end of the day, one of you is worshipping a piece of metal and the other is worshipping the freedom of a woman to choose what she does with her body.

All of which is preceded by and possible because of science. If you're going to accuse me of anything, accuse me of worshipping rational, scientific inquiry.

Your reading comprehension needs work.

The worship of a right to the exclusion of almost everything else in consideration is a fundamental trait of both, for starters.

Both are political litmus tests for either side.

And an honest pro-life supporter would say that you are perpetuating murder, not that you are supporting a woman's right to choose.

And the gun isn't part of technological advancement?

Do you need a history lesson?
